The UFA pool of blue liners looks quite promising. Detroit will land one, moving Carle brings one into Philly too.

At this point I'd rather pass on Stamkos and Richards. Fill in the forward holes with guy like Laich and Max Talbot. I think moving Versteeg is an issue right now with the recent trades.

I'd also venture there is better depth and variety at forward in the UFA pool.

Now that cap isn't a huge issue, absolutely.

Now you can deal Carle and sign a UFA defenseman and not worry about how to fit him.

That's what I said about #17 and 18 right up until yesterday.

I will be almost as shocked as yesterday if Carle is moved.

Both Holmgren and Luuko just said that maintaining their defense (and possibly building upon it) was one of their keys to the off-season.

They're not trading a top-4 guy signed to a nice contract to move up in the draft, IMO.

You would "pass on stamkos?" Thats the most ridiculous statement ever. If you have an opportunity to get him, you do it. It's that simple. There is no "passing" on Stamkos.

Uhhh I'm sure it's not. There'd be news on a death here in Saskatoon being a mediocre-sized city. I haven't recently read anything... i'd think Edmonton, Vancouver & Montreal are higher for obvious reasons...
