Do me a favor... go stand in front of a mirror, look yourself right in the face and say "I would prefer the Flyers to pass on Steven Stamkos if they are in a position to acquire him and sign him to a long term deal."
If you can do this, take your computer and smash it against the wall so we don't need to speak with you anymore. - Richards18

They wouldn't be able to fill any of their holes in the line-up let alone sign Simmonds or Voracek. - rshnk29
Uhh they'd have to trade Hartnell. That's about it. |

They can trade whoever they wan't to clear the space for Stamkos. The dudes a top 3 player in the game. The notion that such an acquisition would even be questioned is beyond ridiculous. |

We need a big center. The Flyers are woefully small and/or inexperienced up the middle now.
It would be great if they got a big defensive oriented center to anchor the third line.
This is so exciting. So many possibilities.

Man, who was the last Flyer to sour on the fans as quickly as Versteeg did? Flyers fans were thrilled to have him added last year and within a few months everyone hated him! I can't remember another player like that - Richards18

Versteeg just blows. He brought absolutely nothing to the team and the minute they acquired him was when they went from the best most consistent team in the league to mediocre and swept outta the playoffs. |

This is true. And added some grit in Simmonds. I would still like to see at least one big center in the lineup. Our top two are smurfs.

amen.
homer should retire right after they make those trades happen, because he could do no better the rest of his career after that performance. |

Not too many guys in free agency....Handzus or Arnott may be good 3rd line center candidates.
Really think it's Schenn's job to lose, though. |

I agree. I would love to see them bring in the prototypical shut down 3rd line center to build a legit grind-it-out 3rd line and really stack their top two lines with talent. I have always felt the grind-it-out type of third line was essential to a teams success |

Mr. Snider was probably telling Panotch not to expect Dr. Pepper on tap in the Wells Fargo Center any time soon. |

I get it, he is a talent in the same class as Ovechkin, Malkin and Crosby. The Flyers however are not in a position to have a player with a cap hit anywhere around 10 million dollars. They'd be going back to having a two pair defensive rotation for the playoffs and no third line what so ever. Thanks but no thanks. |

Love to see them bring Schenn into the fold piece-meal like they did w/ Carts and Richie. Have him concentrate on getting up to speed and learn the ropes on the defensive side of the puck before they give him a bigger role. He was only getting 4th-line duty and was being spotted on the top-lines occasionally in LA...
