well from tampa's stand point they get a versatile, gritty forward, a solid young puck moving defenseman, a potential all star goalie and cap space to sign the guy they really want, brad richards

The trade scenario was easily the most lopsided trade. It would be the best move the team had ever made.

You get arguably the 2nd best player in the world right now, and already established huge d-man with top top potential for pennies on the dollar (in comparison).

Steeg is a decent player, carle is a decent player. Bob is a decent goalie, and a late first round pick? Not a chance.
