There is no way in hell it happens. Yzerman should be fired on the spot if it does.
I will give you my left nut if Stamkos ever leaves Tampa. - flyer_nutter
I agree it won't happen, but what I don't understand is why even risk your franchise player to be signed to an offer sheet on July 1st. Makes no sense. I wonder if a deal is already done and they're trying to move players to take on his new contract because they have an internal budget threshold for payroll.
TB right now needs to get this done before July 1st. Just very curious how they are handling him. |

What about Bob? - youarewrong
so do you keep Bob? Does it make sense if they just signed Bryzgalov, how does he develop if he doesn't get to play. |

I go away for 3 days and Carter and Richards are traded ? WTF ! I hate to see Richards go but love Simmonds and think Schenn will be a stud. I can't wait to see what they do with the pick. They should sign a goal scorer to play with JVR and Giroux and a physical winger to play with Simmond and Schenn. Cole and Torres ? |

It's a two way street. They can't force a player to sign. |

Again not to be a downer, but with the departure of Richards and Carter things will become much harder for Giroux and JVR.
THEY will be the targets of the other team's #1 pair, of all the physicality, everything. I do think Briere has also been able to slide under the radar a bit, and get lost in matchups but it will be hard for him to remain so elusive and shifty now.

If he flops they're screwly majorly whether Bob is there or not because two major pieces just left.
I'm asking because I think this is a tough decision. But why pay a back up over $1MM to sit and get no playing time & not have a chance to develop? Unless they want Bryzgalov for 3-5 years & wait to see if Bob can take over. All interesting decisions. |

Agreed, that is why I think there is a slight and I mean slight chance there could be some trade chatter about Stamkos at the draft. |

All good points. Both players are going from one of the top player to the top players. Giroux will see top checking and top defenseman a lot more often now.

I tried to watch the CSN video remembering Richards and that other guy.
I couldn't stomach it.
No more 5-3 shorties.
