Hodgson made the team late last year and is still here. He's held his roster spot through the off season signings...early season cuts...multy player trades for top six players...and still looking good. The team is sucking right now. He's playing better than 3/4 of our forwards.

Hodgson made the very deep Canucks in the 2010/11 season and Kadri is still trying to make a very shallow Leafs team still in the 2011/12 season. THEY ARE BOTH 21 AND HODGSON MISSED A YEAR AND A HALF OF DEVELOPEMENT

He missed camp because of injury. Followed up with another and not healthy til late in the season and he then had to play with a cage. He made the team wearing that gay cage.

Cody healthy makes this team like he alomost did in his draft year at 18 yrs pre injury.

He didnt miss camp but wasnt cleared for contact until preseason where he was an obvious step behind. He was still recovering from the back injury. Once he was 100% he was immediatly hit in the eye and was out a couple of months with a broken orbital bone iirc. Came back with the cage and started getting points right away an was called up. He has been an NHLer since....

Thinking back you are right. He was over hyped but still a good prospect. People are really not overhyped anymore. Maybe a few but thats normal for any group of fans.

A young Mooseheads team is learning how to win and they seem to like the taste of it. The Herd rolled in to Val-d'Or Friday night looking to win game 1 of a two game set against the Foreurs. The Herd did just that, squeeking out a narrow 3-2 victory to give them 8 wins in their last 9 games.

Alex Grenier continued his hot streak adding 2 goals, which gives him 6 in his last 5 games. Grenier now has 7 goals in 12 games this season. Brad Cuzner scored the other goal for the Moose, his 4th of the season. Rookie Zach Fucale had another strong game making 33 saves and earning 3rd star honors. Fucale is now 6-1 on the season in goal for the Moose

Kadri could be in the NHL playing on the 3rd line right now. They don't want him there as it would not be beneficial anymore to his development.

Hodgson I believe is on the 2nd line at centre. He is currently taking Kesler's spot. When Kesler comes back, do you believe he will retain the second line centre spot? No. He will drop tot he 3rd line or he will be sent to the AHL.

You used Hodgson's injuries as justification for him not being great last year and needing time to find his game again in the AHL, then you dismiss the fact that Kadri got injured this year and is doing the same thing. Prock, you are also trying to use the same argument agains Hodgson as you are using for Kadri.

BOTH players are in very similar situations. If a player in the top 2 lines gets injured, they are the first player to call up. Neither player has proven anything at the NHL level yet, and both have very similar upside.

Why don't you both wait 2 years before having an argument about 2 players where there such little information to go off of?

Agreed, but just because one player that hasn't amounted to anything has one less year of experience over another player that hasn't amounted to anything, doesn't meant that they are better. It only means that neither player has accomplished what was hoped for from them currently.

Put it this way. If you look at Hodgson's draft class, the majority of the first round has established themselves as NHL players, and are performing better than Hodgson at this point. At least 15 I'd say. Kadri, the same can't be said. Many are just starting to make that jump.

Essentially, Hodgson is not only behind his draft class, but still struggling. Kadri is in line with his draft class. Probably doing better than about 20 or so. So arguably on the better end of it still.

I would lower my expectations of Kadri if in the next 2 years he is given a shot again at taking over a spot in our top 6 and just doesn't perform. If that happens this year, next year, or 2 years from now, is not the biggest concern for me. If we have players taking away his spot at the moment because they are playing well (i.e. Kessel, Lupul, MAcarthur, and Kulemin) I understand that it may take longer than expected to get hsi final shot. Just as Hodgson is only getting his chance now because of injuries, along with players like the Sedins, and Kesler.

I don't have high expectations for Colborne. Had he NOT torn up the AHL this year, I'd basically say he's a writeoff. He's 50/50 at BEST to be a top 6 NHL centre at this point.
