I should go back over the last 3 years and post all the negative you posted about Cody. He exceeded so much of what you predicted already... I'm sure you would love to post some of the crazy fantasies some fans had about what he would become also but it is pretty normal when a draft choice of this kind of pedigree comes our way when we are a team always picking in the back end of the 1st round(thanks for failing Nonis). People have come down to earth around here but you....all you are left with now is scratching around to find something negative. There's no amount of face saving to make up for your agena.

I don't understand all the hate over a kid who has come back to challenge for the Calder after a season and a half of career threatening back and orbital bone injuries. Maybe his developement would have be closer to what some of those crazy fans were hoping for...point is, this is a great comeback story and it sickens you for some reason. Everyone else applauds him...even the ones who didnt give him a chance.

Here's how cool Cody Hodgson is under pressure.

In the critical moment of Tuesday's it-felt-critical game, he got behind the Blackhawks' defence on a breakaway and just drifted into thought. He thought about how Dale Weise, of all players, told him to go high glove on Corey Crawford, even though Crawford had just made a big glove save on Daniel Sedin. He thought about what trainer Jamie Hendricks told him when, in the second intermission, they just happened to outline the exact scenario Hodgson was experiencing at that moment. About the only thing he didn't have time to think about was the 6,400-word essay his agent, Ritch Winter, had recently posted online.

"It just felt like I had so much time to think," Hodgson said. "Jamie Hendricks had just walked me through the what I should do if I got free coming in off the wing. And then, that's what happened. Hendricks said fake glove and then go glove side, and that's what I chose to do."

In what is becoming a breakout rookie year for Hodgson, his best attribute may be his timing. He proved again Tuesday, he is clutch when the games feel the biggest. Just 4:08 into the third period, against arguably the Canucks' biggest rival, Hodgson snuck by the Blackhawks defence to score the key goal to jolt his team awake. "There is something different in games like this and I really want to come through when I'm needed," Hodgson said.

He was needed Tuesday. His goal was against momentum and tied the game 2-2, giving Hodgson six goals in January, which include two against San Jose, one against Boston and one against the Hawks.

"It was huge," Cory Schneider said. "He's played in some really high pressure situations, like the world juniors. He knows what it's like to play with pressure. It's good to have a guy that when you see him free you have a good feeling he's going to score.

"Cody is one of those guys. He doesn't rely on one move or one thing. He can do it all. It's been a great boost to have him this year and he just seems to get better and better as the year goes along."

I wonder what his opinion on Kadri is

I don't have much to say this year. They've changed their tune from "Cody Hodgson is the best prospect on the planet OMG OMG OMG he is a lock for the Calder this year" to "maybe if he stays healthy he tops out at Daymond Langkow". I got laughed at when I said I wouldn't even think of trading Kadri for Hodgson. The guy isn't that good, has accomplished less at an older age and draft class, and has back problems (which is brutal for a bad skater to begin with). Hey Nucks fans.... vindication feels good.

Now, instead of preaching how great they are, you get comments like "well, everyone says our prospects suck... I don't think they TOTALLY suck, they're underrated, and just suck a little".

No one here proclaiming the greatness of Canucks prospects. I think they've learned their lesson. My job here is done.

Guys save your breath until Dec 1st when Hodgson is making an impact on one of the deepest teams in the league. If Hodgson were drafted by the Leafs he'd centering Kessel this season.

Don't speak for me. I don't see it that way. When someone puts themselves on record several hundred times since CH was drafted...there's expected to be a lot of "in your face". Don't read too much into it. It's a case of Prock undervaluing Hodgson and over evaluating Kadri. Everytime CoHo had setbacks in his development, Prock was in here starting crap. His silence most of this year speaks volumes.

Kadri will be a good scoring winger. He will improve defensively but will probably be a one dimensional scorer for his career. Only time will tell and it's only the beginning of his career. It's obvious that CoHo will not struggle at the NHL level. He's quarterbacking his own PP unit and is holding the team up at times in this department. I predict that Kadri will not carry any kind of PP unit on his back next year...he'll be a player learning the PP and giving the puck away. Again, time will tell.

As do I, but its just fun to see how Prock was so wrong about Kadri and Hodgsons development up to this point in their careers and since he's been rubbing our noses in it for more than 2 years. I think its fine to have a little payback
