I never really liked his, I'm smarter than you attitude and also his negative slant on things---that said, I really haven't listened to him in over 10 years----I assume he really hasn't changed!!! |

Off topic - any of you have advice on Phillies seats? Any sections to avoid? Any thoughts on best value? Never been to CBP.
Thinking of coming up for the 8/27 game, and StubHub seems to have lots of tix. Looking at some Terrace level seats that seem to be a decent price... - BringBack25
You can't go wrong sitting between the bases at 215-232, 315-332, or 415-432 (I think it is hard to see the game down at the 100 level unless you are fairly far back in the sections). And you get a view of the scoreboards and the big screen from any of those seats.
Then left field 142-145 or 241-245 is not bad, you can still see much of the game from the 100 level and all from the 200 level out there, but the big screen is behind you. Right field 100 level is awful. You can't see anything in right or center field behind the infield unless you're in the first few rows. But right field upstairs 201-210 or 301-310 level is good for seeing the game, but not the scoreboard. Left field 233-237, 330-333, and 431-434 are much like the right field upper level but you can't see the big screen very well as you get farther out.
Try not to sit in the last row of a section in the 100 or 300 level because the standing room people will talk about anything but the game and spill beer on you all night. They're having loads of fun. You and the young-un may not. |

Source? Granted they would have had virtual no wiggle room for extra forwards or injury call ups, they could have signed Bryz and kept both Carter and Richards if they wanted to. Unless you talked to Holmgren personally, we have no way of knowing this or if Snider and Co actually had a say in the trades. - dunnermon12
They don't really have a lot of wiggle room right now, even after trading them. |

There is no source. It's my opinion formed from the facts that I know, and my belief on why the trades were made. Yes, they could have signed Bryzgalov and kept Carter and Richards. Snider runs the team, I think it's a pretty safe bet that he was involved on some level on the moves. I don't need to talk to Holmgren personally to come to an informed opinion rather than the other reasons that are given based on rumor and speculation.

Meh. I don't buy into all the media bs either, but I think to completely discount any of it is ignorant. So it is a fact if there was no salary cap, Carter and Richards would still be Flyers? There's no way to prove that, it's just your opinion. |

no, I realize this. But if they REALLY wanted to keep Carter & Richards, and sign Bryz, they could have done it. Just would have had to move/waive different players on the roster. |

I never offered it as a fact, only as my opinion. An informed opinion based on the facts that are known. Discounting unfounded rumors and speculation isn't ignorant. What's ignorant is to trash a player based on rumors and unfounded speculation. |

There is no way anyone should close the door for any reason as to why Richards and Carter were traded.
-We traded away one of the best two way forwards in the NHL today. Maybe even the most dangerous shorthanded
-We traded away a former goal scorer and a player who consistently reaches 30 from one season to the next.
-We traded away the 2 faces of the franchise and leaders.

The bars and clubs that will no longer benefit from the business they once brought in during the season. |

I definitely agree. And I'm talking about how you can't discount the locker room issues, not the BS young, rich guys drinking "problems". |

I never said otherwise
But in my opinion Richards and Carter were worse then a locker room cancer, they were locker room aids and they drank way too much. Sometimes in the locker room... |

There absolutely was locker room issues. There has to be when a team crashes like that from the top of the NHL to mediocrity and being swept out of the playoffs weakly. That atmosphere creates locker room issues. It's expected. If there wasn't locker room issues, then there would really be an issue, because that would mean no one gave a poop.

Yeah, there has seemed to be a myriad of locker room issues, not just the damaged psyche of going from the Cup Finals to a terrible playoff showing. Their lack of consistency and inability to play a full 60mins at a time has been going on for years now, and a large part of that blame has to be placed on Mike Richards. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the team responds on the ice. |

He is the biggest ?? to me. I could see him take a step back, or 2 forward. Just have a gut feeling. - jak521

Mike Richards as Captain and a top player on the team, certainly deserves his share of the blame. But so do the other top players and leaders on the team. For whatever reason, when they built up the big lead and were a top team in the middle of the Season, they put it on cruise control, and built up so many bad habits and got in such a rut that they couldn't get out of it.

Jvr, Briere, Giroux, and to a lesser extent Jagr and Voracek have to carry the scoring load now. If any of those guys get hurt or under performs they might have trouble making the playoffs. |
