What would you do if Dipietro came back to play on peg legs, after his knees and hips gave out on him. |

I'm just wondering what is there to gain from trading Gomez at this point? What's the point of freeing up 7.5M of cap space after free agency? You still need to find a good/decent second line center for this year. Long term it is good to get rid of his contract, but that might as be next summer when his contract is even more cap floor friendly.
Otherwise our second line center becomes Desharnais or whatever comes the other way for Gomez (let's be frank, it can't be good). |

why would you take horcoff over gomez? even with the 2m cap difference, gomez is still more valuable. he has 1 less year on his deal, is a better player and consistently brings it in the playoffs.
gomez is a much better option than horcoff. - RealityChecker
And never mind the logjam of third line centers the Oilers have with Horcoff, Brule, Lander, and Belanger.
Gomez can be disguised as a #1 center with top skills wingers like Hall and Eberle, and it gives the Oilers a chance to wait with RNH let him become a little more NHL ready.
The only positive of Horcoff is that he has heterochromia which makes him look crazy. |

A. You could get a center in return.
B. Why the hell would you be opposed to getting rid of 7.5 million at any time of the year? |

I'd like to thank my mom and dad who made this possible.
I'd like to thank the Academy and all the old rich Jews for voting for me.
I'd also like to thank Garth Snow, for his ground breaking contract negotation skills. |

If Gomez can't do well with Gionta, a guy who he played some of his best years next too, I doubt he would do any better playing in Edmonton.
Hey, at least it gets him closer to Alaska. |

Maybe thats what he needs. He might need to feel the cold northern wind in order to rekindle his NHL skills. |
