The fact that both CGY and Buff have cap issues make this deal unlikely. - trash
I wasn't referring to any deal. I was just talking about new ownership really trying to send a message.

LOL, fair enough.
I do not think that a player can turn a poop player into a superstar (obviously you have to have talent to begin with) but to say it is not a factor is false. - thebigbird
I agree with you. So does John Leclaire. |

I didn't say it isn't a factor at all. Just that it seems to make much less of a difference than people think. |

In all seriousness, they're the type of team made up of half-decent local guys who all know eachother, who could pose a problem to a team that wasn't focused and ready to show up. However going in there with a full A-side it won't happen. |

Howard saw a photo of me with a freshly beaned noggin that made it look big apparently. Also, it is tall, vertically... just not particularity big around.

Well, sure. It may be a little exaggerated, but it's somewhat true. the Sabres are sparing no expense these days. He's going after it pretty hard. - prock

You're right. JM's system in no way impacts an offensive player's numbers. Carry on - chpucapabb
Do you really think Calgary and LA played a no defense run and gun system, were the forwards did not have to play at both ends of the ice?
Or did Calgary and LA have the power forwards that could get to the corners, win the battle in the corner and control the puck in the other teams end while the offense gets positioned to set up an offense that could maintian some semblance of pressure in the offensive end, which resulted in more offensive chances for the wingers while not sacrificing their defensive responsibility.
The only chances the habs get to score is on a PP or on a counter attack, that has more to do with the makeup of the team then it does the system. The System is a consequence of the teams anatomy. |

Did someone piss in your corn flakes this morning?
As I said, while most people think it makes a huge difference, it seems to make much less of a difference than you think. Of course, there are exceptions. Cheechoo/Thornton.... Hull/Oates... Two huge ones that spring to mind. - prock
My cornflakes were fine.
But really we are all posters and entitled to a opinion, but when you Quote another poster as some sort of fact because he watched him play that crap does not fly anymore then your other anti-hab crap.
If Souray was as good as his salary would suggest he would still be breaking his hand in the NHL not buried in the AHL.

What gets me with him is he acts like no other team owner in the league's history has done some sort of renovations or donate money. |

JM's Ottawa Senators were a top offensive team with top offensive talent. Any coach who has Mtl's roster better be preaching D first. |
