Outside LB's

- Jarrad Davis my boy says he can’t see him anything beyond a backup or low-end starter in the NFL. Maybe a rotational starter in run-stopping situations.

Comps are CJ Mosley and Robert Henson(who? exactly)

- T.J. Watt is a potential beast. Projection......He’s going to be a nice, multidimensional weapon for some team. He’s not going to lead the league in any one category, but he’ll have nice stats across the board in everything they track defensively. He’s going to be a quality pro at worst, and an All-Pro at best.

His comp list....is god damn sexy. Anthony Barr, Brian Cushing, and Clay Matthews.

- Tyus Bowser my boy says: he feels like a player who is going to be more good/useful/spot-starter/special teams guy than a breakout star. He has the physical tools to be a starter and succeed in the NFL. I’m not sure he has the instincts and passion to go with it.

His comp list is all over the place, a couple of scrubs but guys like Jordan Hicks and Connor Barwin as well. Seems like a risky pick with upside.

- Ejuan Price my boy's sleeper in this class, says injuries have devalued him and make him a potential steal. Worthy of a pick anywhere after the top 3 rounds.

Marshon Lattimore

Projection: If he has a Darius Slay career, then he’ll be great and no one will really know about it on a national stage. Fans of his team will know, but not general fans. Lattimore as ‘quietly good’ is probably a good label to roll with

Comps: Top comp is Darius Slay, 2nd is William Jackson(drafted in 1st last year by CIN, injured, didn't play)

Marlon Humphrey

Projection: Names like Trae Waynes, Dre Kirkpatrick, Jalen Collins all come to mind here…guys that got a good draft stock hype/push and then mostly disappointed in the NFL. They weren’t flat-out busts but they didn’t live up to the hype. Then there’s Alabama bust corner Dee Milliner…and he reminds us that the Crimson on those jerseys can do strange things to the mind. I have a feeling Humphrey is going to struggle and disappoint in the NFL, but I recognize there are tools and an upside to work with here. I fully could be wrong on this one. You want Humphrey as a developmental…you don’t want to pay a top 15 price for it. Not in this deep CB draft.

Adoree' Jackson *BOY ALERT*

Projection: Jackson has a chance to be the best, most dynamic corner from this draft. There’s hesitation on his size, but I really think that’s overblown in this current ‘track meet’ NFL where speed and agility (and cover skills) are as coveted as ‘big’. Adoree’ Jackson as the next coming of Terence Newman makes a lot of sense. Perfect comp.

Comps: Terrence Newman, Desmond Trufant, Leon Hall

Kevin King

Projection: As I said, King is NFL ‘good’…that’s his floor. The excitement is that King might be great with better technique and experience…you can’t teach the tools he has. He might be the best corner in this draft 2-3 years from now or just ‘solid’. I don’t think he will bust. I see a bigger Eric Rowe.

Projection: I think Adams is headed more towards an OK-to-good (disappointing) career than a good-to-great one

Obi Melifonwu

Projection: The ultimate boom or bust pick. If Melifonwu stays at safety, he’ll be a starter…and possible destroyer in the passing game – covering so much ground. If Melifonwu moves to safety/linebacker hybrid, he’ll be a great cover guy (like Byron Jones) but lacking hype for how good he really is all around (like Byron Jones). If Melifonwu moves to corner, the NFL world may get tipped upside down – if he can transition well enough into it.

Comps: Sean Taylor(RIP) is the top comp, then a lot of scrubs/busts after that

Jabrill Peppers *Discount Boy Alert*

Projection: Whatever position he plays, Peppers will likely start in his rookie season…whether right away or as the season goes on. He’s just too talented to sit. At a minimum, he’ll return kicks right away and be used a little on offense here and there

Desmond King **Sleeper Pick**

Projection: He played corner at Iowa, but he profiles as a great free safety — he can cover receivers well and is a solid tackler. What takes him a step above is his leadership. He’ll be a secondary captain for a defense someday in the NFL.

Has all the tools to be an elite level player, but has yet to put it together. Could be solid, good, great or an outright bust. Unlikely to make an immediate impact, but if he puts things together, he could be a major difference maker in year 1. Likely headed for a solid career, but could also be good or terrible.
