they had no semblance of a pass rush all year until Trent Cole started producing in the final few games. He is on his way out and NEEDED to be replaced.
This guy has experience in a 3/4 as an OLB.
bringing a consistent pass rush will probably do more to help your DBs over the course of the year than picking up some DB you werent really high on in the 1st round just to say you did it.

maybe he would have. then it would have been somebody else reaching and making a pick too early.

and the eagles would have 2 DB's (one a pretty good prospect) and at least 1 WR and a decent DE prospect right now.

but deep down inside, facepaint and all, you know it wasn't the pick to make and that if they were more prepared it wouldn't have been the pick they made. at least not there.

if the plan was to keep trading down and gathering picks and then take him at a more suitable time as their first pick in the draft (somewhere in the middle of the second round at the earliest) then i'd be down because they'd have all those other picks (and i do think this is very feasible as the basic blueprint of what they may have been trying to do, especially with their lack of picks). they said themselves they were looking to trade down again from 26 and couldn't find a deal. that basically is admitting they were forced to make a pick at 26 that they didn't want to make at 26.
