Hahaha yeah that was funny. Tucker was always good for a laugh.
Neil has never been suspended. Darcy Tucker has. But Neil is worse, hardly. You leaf fans are so bias it's not funny. - CapitalOtt613
neil lays out dirty hits on small guys but wont fight enforcers.. he's a dirty hitter man, and i am not saying this cause i am a leafs fan, i'm saying it cause its true.
and i think neil's suspensionless days are a thing of the past. he tries his bs hitting this year shanny wont hesitate to throw the book at him unlike the toothless campbell |

Dude I never said Tucker was a goon. A Diver, a pest, but I never said or thought goon.
I wasn't comparing stats. I was comparing who was more of a dirty player on the ice, who crossed the line more, cheapshots and stuff. Who is more hated. I think thats Tucker. Hell I think Shanahan even got suspended for slashing Tucker, because he's a little dink.
And finally thats Pai Mei, and yes he's a magician of kicking arse. - CapitalOtt613
Tucker was more of an agitator, sure, but he wasn't near as dirty/dangerous. |

I hope you're right. I actually know a guy (worked with him in Alberta) who is from Ontario and played against Neil in junior hockey. Says he fought Neil one time...Neil kick the crap out of him lol |

Sometimes I'm embarrassed to be a fan of the same team as these blow hards...they are so biased. I think they forget the Darcy Tucker hit on Peca.....and I loved Tucker as a player.
I was going to point out to these winners...there's a reason Neil hasn't been suspended in his career yet. He hits hard but CLEAN. - iLive4theLeafs
last night's hit was clearly to the head. there is no denying that. you even see his elbow and forearm come up before contact.
and this season, thats a dirty hit. |

hockey has changed so much in the passed few years, and im sure he will get a suspension from last nights crap, so yeah, there it is.
and i like your "expected comeback from the likes of you.." seems like your upset about something eh buddy?
darcy tucker bang your X or something? - big_dion
No ...it just meant I expect very little from you in the way of cerebral rebuttals. I'm a Tucker fan....I guess you missed that part. |

According to Sens blogger
Chris Neil will not be disciplined for hit on Grabovski last night. Here, precedence set for Shanahan era re: incidental contact.
Of course I sent my tweet back
"Nothing Neil does is accidental and everyone should know it by now, especially the NHL, same old crap." |

Didn't watch the game and I haven't watched that clip on a big enough screen to pass too much judgement. But from what I've viewed so far...it didn't look look like that big of deal. |

I'm not as down as others on Komi. I think he will bounce back this season. But, when you're a shutdown guy, if we don't hear about you it's a good thing. That will make it hard for him to shake this image even if he does play well... - B-Leaf
well, when it comes right down to it only the coaching staff's opinion of him matters. he has his bad moments, but overall, he has had a decent pre-season. is he overpaid? sure he is but expecting him to "earn" that paycheque is a fantasy. I just want him to be stable back there and not try and be a hero cause thats when he gets running around in his own end and thats nothing but trouble for a defenseman like him |

I will say that he head hunts abit out there, but his arms are down, and I don't think he wants to injure, therefore he's really not that dirty. Hell he's played almost 600 games and never been suspended, so how dirty could he be.
Im sure he will tone down the headhunting this year, especially since he's on the radar. |

neil is tough, no question, and i think his hits are very borderline so with that in mind I think he'll see a suspension if he doesnt reign himself in a bit, same idea goes for phaneuf.. both will have to keep an eye on where the initial contact gets made. dion has pushed the limits a couple times this pre-season already |

Dion didn't look like he was going for the head like Neil did.
He did blind side that guy a bit though. |

well.. i will be fair here.. it looked like the hits phaneuf laid out early in pre-season, so using that as a guage, no, he shouldnt be suspended if dion wasnt. penalized yes, but not suspended.
the point i am trying to make is that neil skates on the borderline of what is acceptable and whats not, and with a new sherrif in town so to speak he might have to watch himself a bit more. |

I think I saw on TSN that the Neil hit IS NOT being looked at because it was too difficult to distinguish incidental contact or not.
To me it looked pretty obvious but apparently not. |

you said it, and that hit just brings attention to it, no doubt shanny will be watching him.. and i mentioned it in an earlier post that phaneuf has laid out a couple borderline hits this preseason he was penalized for as well, so if he didnt get suspended it wouldnt be fair to throw the book at neil.
as a leafs fan yes i want a suspension, as a hockey fan trying to be fair its tough to make the argument he deserves one if there are players (such as phaneuf) making the same hits and not getting suspensions. |
