i am not too sure how i feel about him as a top 6 centre though, i mean yes, he got 53 points with the yotes but thats his career high, and its the only time he has ever cracked 50

That's actually reasonable. It's hard to say where to put him - and if does play friday we may see a couple different line comparisons. I still think the 3rd line would be best for him.

I prefer sober so they don't sign slugs like him ever again.

Just because he signed this year doesn't mean he'll do it every year until he retires. Whatever incentives they can throw at him to keep him for the next two or three years, they should do it. Added to the fact that he actually deserves the captaincy and it makes perfect sense.

Seems to me that's a massive overpayment for a 30-year-old with no hope of a Venti with the big club.

He's a much better skater than army and bozak, I'm not sure how that will work out for him.

agree on army's skating but not bozak. bozak has the wheels but tried to hard to set kessel up all the time instead of finishing his own chances. but i would say bozak is more than capable of keeping up to lombardi

i like the idea of using him as a thrid line winger. doesnt have to skate into the concussion danger zone that is the middle of the ice. working from the boards may be more physical, but ultimately its safer since there isnt as many "open ice" style hitting oppurtunities

I understand your point here, and I fully agree he should be captain...

However, I don't think giving him the C is going to keep him from doubling his money in the KHL - if he would ever consider taking that option, he's going to take it whether he's captain or not.
