like him or not, he was a very effective player his first stint in new york. in fact, he was nearly a point a game player in 06-07 after we acquired him. had very good playoffs too. just look at our record after we got him that year. he drew a ton of penalties and was very effective on the forecheck using his speed. there was a reason he got 15.5 million dollar contract from dallas.

oh he was effective back then, don't get me wrong. if he wasn't effective people wouldn't hate him. i just disliked that when push came to shove he wouldn't stand up for himself. and just the way he carried himself. seemed like a punk to me.

he's the type of player that you're supposed to hate cause he's on the other team but you'd love to have on your team. in recent years i wouldn't want him on my team and he still acted like he should be thought of that way.
