Frankly I could care less what Oscar Klefbom is doing compared to Sven Bartschi.
Really, when you point out how Kadri has a hard time making the leafs top 6 and Cowen is on the Ottawa d-corps, you open up questions about how easily Kadri would make the ottawa top 6 or Cowen would make the toronto d-corps. Is that the can of worms you want to open over a pretty irrelevant statement about how two prospects are faring?
It's something to brag about when you have a good player, or the best rookie, or whatever, but "my team's prospect isn't doing outstanding, but is slightly better than your team's prospect? - Morris
Good post. I love the Oilers. Not just because of what they are doing but for the way they have gone about doing it. Lots of rookies come in and look good in their first and even second year but begin to fall off once the rest of the league starts to make book and decides on how to shut them down or exploit them.
The Oilers are now moving into the phase where they need to fill holes. They will need to find a number 1 Dman who can log 25 minutes a game and run the power play. Because of the way that they have gone about building their team and developing their prospect pool they have the ability to do that kind of deal. And everyone knows that will be even better when they get to the next level. They also now have the leverage to sign a top UFA. All players want to play for a winner that has a shot at winning the Cup.
Your point about how players would fit into another teams agenda is entirely on target. Teams that are in a development mode make very different decisions about players and ice time. Hall and Eberle would not have had the ice time they did last year had they been playing for the Bruins. And, they would not be having the start they are having this year without the playing time from last year. People forget how much Stamkos struggles his first half season in Tampa.
I think the Oilers are an elite team in the making, the insiders understand what is coming. A lot of fans want to believe that what they see on ice tonight is the final version of this team. There is so much more to come.

Please look up the definition of troll. It just irritates me when people use the term in such a cavalier manner. For the most part the forums are relatively troll free. Trolls misrepresent or mischaracterise their identity or beliefs in order to hook responses. The essence of trolling is deceit. If a guy comes on here and says that Brian Murray is an idiot or Brian Burke is a loud mouth it is not trolling if he is saying what he believes to be true.
Trolling can be a highly refined skill and you should not think that some of the luddards who post on this site have the intellectual capacity to be primarily, merely deceptive as to the meaning and character of their original thoughts. - spatso
A toll is someone who just tries to poop-stir, this is dopp.
While I don't hold dopps in huh regard intellectually, I doubt he's dumb enough to believe most of what he says. Same applies for a certain sens fan who won't admit he is. |

See that is exactly what I am talking about. How could anybody characterize Doppleganger as a troll. He is the exact opposite of a troll. In regard to my own situation I have repeatedly explained my evolving fan support. I like four teams. I like the Leafs, the Senators, the Oilers and the Flyers. However, first and always I am a fan of hockey. My favorite coach of all time was Pat Burns and my favorite rivalry was Nordiques/Canadiens, loved the Nordiques. In fact, my following of the Senators increased when the Nords went to Denver.
I am not a fan of a bunch of teams, especially the Canadiens, Rangers and Bruins although I am a fan of Chiarelli. I am a big fan of Poile, Holmgren and Brian Murray. I think Gauthier and Holland may have the best hockey minds of all the GMs. I believe that Glen Sather is dumber than a puck. I don't think Blowhard is much better.

when you say " poop-stir", do you mean when someone tells them that what they saw, in a game they watched, did not happen, becasue it does not show up in the stats? |

No, that is not trolling either. Trolling has nothing to do with disagreeing or trying to provoke debate. Trolling is serious stuff. It involves calculated misrepresentation, an attempt at deception. If, for example, Prock goes on line and says that he is a little boy trying to meet little girls it is trolling, if, in fact, it turns out he is a 35 year old man trying to arrange meetings with minor children. If, on the other hand, it is proven that Prock is a 13 year old boy just trying to meet 12 year old girls it is not trolling.

No, I mean someone who brings up a player in a thread about another player, and talks him up, making his minor accomplishments sound much better than they were. |

The only easily discerned thing around here is how massively biased you are. |

Oh I get it, like you did in this thread. On page two.
he's been bad since training camp, me thinks he didn't train properly this summer. To much emphasis on adding muscle, not enough on skating. Made a similar mistake a couple of years ago.
Filatov's doing good in teh AHL, not Colborne good, but good. - Schenn-Sational!

Get your (frank)ing act together. You can't even level one decent criticism.
These are his two quotations:
he's been bad since training camp, me thinks he didn't train properly this summer. To much emphasis on adding muscle, not enough on skating. Made a similar mistake a couple of years ago.
Filatov's doing good in teh AHL, not Colborne good, but good.
That's a quotation about Schenn's subpar performance, Filatov's middling performance and Colborne's slightly better performance.
Here, he defines a troll:
No, I mean someone who brings up a player in a thread about another player, and talks him up, making his minor accomplishments sound much better than they were.
Where in the first quotation did he "[bring] up a player in a thread about another player, and [talk] him up, making his minor accomplishments sound much better than they were"?
Nowhere, that's (frank)ing where.
Unless, you want to argue that he was puffing up Filatov's "good" performance in the AHL, that Filatov is in fact doing worse than Schenn-Sational gave him credit for? Is THAT your argument? |
