You've said in the past that there is "correlation" between how prospects play in the Junior leagues, and how much faster they will develop on "stronger" teams.
- Doppleganger
I have never once stated they will develop faster on stronger teams. |

Why do you bother?
He has contradicted himself about 20 times in his last 10 posts.
Do you actually think he's going to say:
'Oh wow.. I guess I did say that... Hmm, you are right'
He constantly talks about how no leaf fans can give any credit to the Sens, but has failed to ever do so with the leafs. He clearly has some sort of complex, but I'll leave that to him to solve on his own.
As for his comment about Leaf fans, here is my view.
I personally like the Sens. They have a very positive outlook for a team that just recently started a rebuild. Many of their pieces are fitting together much better that anyone would have imagined at the beginning of the year, and although I do not see them keeping it up, the mere fact that they could even put up the numbers they have for the short period of time that they have so far is more than impressive.
That said, I do not see them contending for the playoffs this year or the next. If they continue down the same road that they have with good depth drafting and a few more high end picks, I can see themn being highly competative in 2-3 years time. |

you infer it.
There is 100% a correlation between production in juniors and production in the NHL. It's not perfect, as some players develop a little faster than others, play on stronger teams (stacked Knights squads), etc, but more often than not, it holds pretty close when you look at guys in the same draft year - prock |

I agree, and I have stated as much in various posts.
But your trollonto fans who comprise the LTP won't let anything go, they're insistent that there is ZERO benefit to Ottawa, now or in the future, by any success in the AHL, that a number of their prospects had.
That is just ridiculous.
I will always argue that the Calder Cup run was a positive thing for the organization, and the benefits will pay off at the NHL level, however small or big it is, in the future.
To say it's not a positive, is to take the position that it was a negative and will set the organization back..................so lets see someone point to an example. |

I'm sorry, was I trolling with my comments stating how I like Ottawa's progression?
Was I trolling when I said I don't expect them to compete this year?
The better question is are you trolling with half the comments you have made regarding Toronto players? Rhetorical, as the answer is yes |

THIS:
I will always argue that the Calder Cup run was a positive thing for the organization, and the benefits will pay off at the NHL level, however small or big it is, in the future.
Is NOT the same thing as THIS:
Better prospects, better team, team makes playoffs.
Crappy prospects, crappy team, team does not make playoffs.
They are not the same thing, they do not logically follow from each other, they are not an even remotely similar conclusion. We agree with the first statement no question. The Second statement? Absolutely not. |

How could I miss that? An AHL team that fiunished dead last and did not make the playoffs just has to have the best group of prospects in the world.............so much better than one that played 23 playoff games and won everything.
So I guess the Lake Erie Monsters, worst P% in the AHL, have the best prospects.
makes sense right?
Once again, you're trying to put words in my mouth to make your point.
I said that the incredible playoff run and AHL Championship gives a good indication of how good the Senator prospect pool is. |

A little harsh, but if you toned it down a bit you might have something.. For instance:
You are slow. HB would be a better place if you had never joined.

Don't you trollonto trolls have anything better to do with your time than to argue with everything a Senator fan posts??
I said back in the Spring that one indication of how good Ottawa's prospect pool is, when compared to toronto's pool, is that the marlies failed to make the playoffs, and the Binghamton Senators won the freaking Calder Cup!!!!!
You can try and argue semantics or context or whatever your kool-aid infuse brains can conjure up, but it does not change the fact that the 23 game playoff run experience benefited the prospects in the Ottawa system more than the putting tips Kadri passed onto the rest of the marlies during the same time period.
To argue otherwise is boneheaded.
But I expect nothing less from you guys. No one agrees with you, but please feel free to try and convince yourselves that a team (with prospects) that wins the Calder cup has players that are no further along in their collective and individual development than another group of prospects that started golfing at the end of the regular season.
Cowen for example is playing in the top four, while kadri is piling up assists in the AHL.
I'm sure you believe it, but no one else does.

Giving one's opinion and responding to criticisms of it.

reading the stats of game, proves what you saw happen of the ice did not happen.

actually, it proved that you were talking him up for far more than he did.
You claimed he was taking the puck away from OV "time and time again" and had his number all night.
After the stats were posted, you admitted it only happened twice.
Or did you forget that part of the thread?
edit: the part where you said you didn't say that, and then i posted the part where you did, and you disappeared for a few pages hoping nobody would notice. |
