that's why when i review a beer in the beer thread i just admit my limitations.

if i don't actually smell something without trying to smell something i just don't mention the smell.

i'm unaware of many of the different styles so i try not to get too involved in style talk.

it's always cringe-worthy when i see someone in over their head trying to get away with not knowing what they're talking about.

i like to see what "the bros" have to say about a beer on there but i try not to read the user reviews.

if i look at a beer and only users have reviewed it and not the bros i just close the tab.

i feel like i can trust guys who call themselves the bros.

A - a bit on the heavier side, a slight lacing in the frayed armpits of its Gem And The Holograms t-shirt (unironic)

N - pungent sulfur gives way to stale dorito, finishing with a mountain dew quality... probably the cascade hops

T - very little, but damn it tries!

M- Kind of gassy, tends to coat the tongue after several sips

O - Basically, the YELP of beer.

beers are way too influenced by hype and rarity on those rating websites.

i know for me personally a beer from the same batch can taste different from one day to the next simply depending on what i had to eat recently or what beer i had before it too.

A IIPA is only "decent" unless you have to hunt down the delivery trucks or stand in line for 12 hours to get some. If you do that then it's 100/100.

Those rating websites absolutely hate traditional English ales, I always noticed that too. A decent mild ale is lucky to hit 50% on ratebeer or whatever.
