Pierre Dion from Quebecor sitting beside Bettman and Foley at todays expansion press conference. Have to assume this isn't an emphatic no for Quebec today. Hopefully some good news.

I have zero hope for us being awarded an expansion team today, whether for 2017-2018 or beyond.

They will anounce that they're "delaying" the expansion to Québec, but in reality they will be keeping us as a landing spot for relo in case a franchise HAS to move and can't find a buyer in the U.S.

Pierre Dion is most likey there to do some damage control and say "we have good crelationship with the NHL, our time will come, blah, blah, blah)". AKA to try and prevent a complete burning of the city by it's inhabitants on St-Jean-Baptiste day

Personally? Nope. Doesn't matter to me where the team is.

For the franchise I do think there's some mild concern, but the belief is that there are at least two local investors willing to take on the team once Karmanos actually wants to sell it. The city/county/state/team are investing more in the arena and new practice facilities, so I would think that's a decent indicator that it's staying put for the forseeable future.
