everyone in toronto is just assuming that player development is completely linear and everyone will just get better every year until they are 27 lol. it's not like toronto has ever had any good young players before though so you can't blame us for being stupid. we really don't know how this works.

MacDonald still has another 4-5 years before he reaches his prime I reckon. There's no way someone's peak could be this low.

I know this is a bad bad terrible thing to say, but I expect sophomore slumps and injuries to strike next year so really your window is this year sorry

man you have no idea. rielly has been poop defensively all year, gardiner is a tire fire half the time, and zaitsev is a rookie yet those three are miles better than anyone else they have back there. the leafs are a mess defensively. it's terrifying.

polak plays simply because he can push people away from the goalie on the penalty kill. that's his only hockey related skill. he's garbage at everything else hockey related.
