Taylor Swift is never, ever, ever going to read your fan letter. Nashville's News 2 aired a hard-hitting investigative segment revolving around a pile of Swifty's fan mail that was discovered tossed in a recycling dumpster.

A local resident came across hundreds of letters to the "22" singer -- many of which were unopened -- discarded in a recycle bin. The good Samaritan immediately gathered the items, believing this was surely an act of sabotage against T-Swift, as she is obviously a woman of the [little] people and would never stand for this.

"I didn't know if they were stolen, or if somebody discarded them," says Kylee Francescan, who found the mail pile. "I was like, somebody needs to let Taylor know." Francescan took the next logical step and drove the box full of hearts, sparkles, and handwriting from around the world to her local news station. "I want them to get returned to her and see that they are responded to properly," says Francescan.

What happens next is Emmy-winning journalism, to be sure. News 2 reporter Andy Cordan gathers his camera crew and drives the letters to Swift's record label on Music Row. Of course, being a record label and not Taylor's personal secretaries, Big Machine Records knows nothing about the situation and suggests the news station try the address on the letters.

The folks at the mail box center where the letters are addressed confirm Taylor's reps pick up mail for her there, so Cordan reaches out to Swift's publicist, who sends back a statement:
"Taylor gets thousands of fan letters every day and they are delivered to her management office. After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled. The only explanation for any letters being unopened would bet hat a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center. We sincerely appreciate Channel 2 bringing this to our attention."News 2 reports a messenger for Taylor's management team drove to the station promptly and picked up the box of fan mail. Anchor Bob Mueller says, "We are told it will be handled appropriately." (Presumably by being delivered back to the dumpster, where it was put intentionally in the first place, if we're all being honest.)
