I actually know the answer to this!!!!!

Marvel sold the rights to X-Men to Fox studios prior to starting the Marvel Studios.

They can't mention x-men or mutants in marvel studios movies.

- dt99999

Dan's knowledge is impressive and worrisome.

But he's right. Marvel thought they best way to make money off movies was whoring off their rights for an infinity amount of time, because it used to be that "comic book movies can never be successful. they're too weird for audiences. thats why we have to make Zardoz"

Sold Spider-Man, Daredevil, Xmen, Punisher, and Fantastic Four for $7 million each to Fox mostly and Sony (just Spider-Man) and then had a similar deal, but only for independent Hulk films, with The Hulk to Universal

And since they basically planned out the MCU as we've seen it since 2012 when their proof of concept worked, they don't have a plan to integrate the X-men anytime soon. Because, how would this world that basically had nobody with powers all of a sudden be like "also these weirdo freaks have been here for 100s of years"?

Its gonna be a weird thing for them becuase the X-men have always been treated in world as freaks and monsters, while the Avengers adjacent characters are all treated as heroes despite having similar powers and stuff.

deadpool and the avenger movies are good. haven't really seen many of the other ones yet. i'll probably watch thor because i liked his character in infinity war and endgame and i'll eventually see ironman 2 because my boy is in it.

couldn't pay me to watch captain america. (frank) that character.

Captain America: Winter Solider is really really good

The first 2 Thor films are terrible but Ragnarok is good. I know Caper didn't like it but he's Caper

Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther are good. Dr Strange and the Ant-Man movies are fun.

if i were to watch any of them i'd pick the iron man movies because i liked iron man comics growing up and i am a robert downey jr mark.

spiderman was my favorite superhero by far but i'll never let them ruin it for me with tobey (frank)ing maguire and this other kid.

as far as the rest it's just too many movies for me.

do i need to see the first 2 thor films to properly enjoy #3? i could just read the wikipedia plot outlines i guess.

i will probably see spiderman eventually. maybe dr strange and ant-man too, it depends. i fell asleep during black panther so there's a good ~30 minutes in the middle that i missed. those were my fav 30 minutes of the film.

i saw the 3 tobey movies in the theatre. they were ok. they didn't really start nailing these super hero movies until recently though.
