He has played on lines with better wings than he is now in the past few years. He has had his chance to prove that he was worthy of where he was picked. And I'm sick of the playing with better players argument for some. Either you got it or you don't and up until the last 10 games or a few flashes here and there, Josh Bailey has not shown on a consistent basis that he's "got it". - BringBackBalky
OK fair enough........time will tell. |

Oh you mean Eberle who plays with Hall, and Nugent Hopkins? Yeah almost forgot about him. Very close to Bailey playing with Rolston, and a bridgeport callup in Ulstrom. I can see the similarities...... - kindlyrick
Baily is not a good player and a bust to most islander fans. You sir are def in the
Minority of thinking Baily is some top 6 forward. It doesn't matter who he is playing with. If you have the talent and skill u r going to find ways to produce. There are a ton players who have been amazing players in the league playing along scrubs as there line mates. |

He's been playing well the last 10 games or so..........wonder why? Cause he's finally playing with better wingers (not comeau who got waived.......or 4 liners). You cant go by statistics with Bailey when he doesnt see the PP. Not sure why the second best "disher" on the team isnt playing pump 2 on the PP.......but hey who am I. - kindlyrick
One goal and three assists in the last 10 games and that's what we've lower the bar for "playing well" to? Best "disher" on the team has 6 assists in 31 games, with three coming in the last 10? The bar is set waaaayy too low for this kid. He should have at least 20 points right now. He should finish the year with at least 50 points. That's not too much to ask and it certainly will not happen. |

Bailey has like of tavares, grabner and moulson on his team right? So he's got talent around him. Maybe josh bailey is more of manny malhotra and not pat lafontaine. - tomburton99
The day that Josh Bailey ever plays with Tavares, Grabner or Moulson, is never happening. Bailey is a set up guy........and should be the second line center.

eberle is a .75 ppg player stepan is a .61 and bailey is .4 and bailey has twice twice as many games played as both. So now who is in who's league? |

Your argument could be valid, but this is a game of special teams. How many players rack up points on the PP? Bailey doesnt sniff the PP. Im not going to sit here and say that Josh Bailey is the next coming.......but he has played well the last ten games, and its as a result of finding SOME chemistry |

Take Jordan Eberle out of this conversation..........and Stepan plays with a former 50 goal scorer in the league. So lets not talk stats.......cause theyre skewed |

Right. And there's a reason for that: because he's not very good. For a team desperate to find scoring in the early going (and who are we kidding, now as well), the best "disher" on the team would have been playing PP minutes IF he was good enough to play on the PP. Isles fans all want Bailey to be great, but it doesn't look like he'll ever be more than a 3rd line plug at best. |

What has he done to show that he should be the second line center? I don't think Frans is necessarily the answer on the second line but I don't think they trust Bailey there. I think JB is what he is right now and that's a decent 3rd line center. |

well than he should play with the likes of moulson or grabner. face it, the guy isn't a point producer. he's more like manny malholtra. |

You're talking about the islanders.........the same team who keeps Rolston on the point of the power play.......when it goes 0 for 10 |

If Bailey is going to be on the isles long-term, he better learn to play and love the wing. Once Strome is ready, he's coming up to be the 2nd line center. Nielsen is better than Bailey and is ideal for the third-line. Unless Bailey is the 4th line center, he's going to be displaced at center once Strome comes up, likely next season. |

You know what i meant.........theres a major difference between a 20 goal scorer and a 40. Those 19 goals that Gaborik has scored this year, gives Stepan 17 assists. A far cry from baileys lineys |
