a couple see him as what he is, which is a 3rd line center. a handful see him as a top 6 foward, which he is not. I'm not knocking him for that. when blair betts was ranger i was a big fan of his and he was lacking offensively. i think bailey has a higher ceiling than that. but i think steps, and artie have higher ceilings. |

Its a three ring circus, Capuano should not be coaching an AHL team let alone a NHL team. - Cptmjl

Question what is the purpose of playing Reasoner? He is so bad that he makes Gillies seem like an NHL player. - mighty13duck
I can't believe how bad Reasoner has been. I can't kill anyone on this except Reasoner himself. He always had a reputation as a solid NHL player. He put up 32 points last year and at times was called the best player for the Panthers. He has generated about 3 scoring chances all year and doesn't do anything away from the puck that is any value. It's incredible how terrible he has been.
I'm not a big Capuano guy and wasn't since they hired him. He did a good job in Bridgeport and taught Scott Gordon's system pretty well and the Isles players fit in well when they were called up with the zillion injuries.
There are NHL guys out there now for the first time in a while and I'm disappointed the Isles haven't made a move. Carlye, Andy and Terry Murray, Therrian to name a few are available and all have reputations for bringing discipline and structure.
The Isles are dreadful in their own zone and it's not just the d-men. The forwards make glaring mistakes in their coverage and as a unit, they have no cohesive exit from their own zone. Tough to create offense with speed or on the rush (which should be a strength) when you have to battle just to get the puck to center ice. Teams have figured the Isles out. Force them to dump and chase and the chances against will be few and far between.
I don't dislike Capuano but when there are choices out there that are obvious improvements to your team they have to be made when things are going poorly.
Terry Murray had 2 bad months as Kings coach (no one mentions he lost Simmonds, Ryan Smyth, Handzus and Mike Richards was hurt) and they couldn't score and he is out.
Come on Wang and Snow. I know Cappy is a decent human being and you like him but we need to win. |

Wait... When did Pilon suck for the Isles??
You must be thinking of cairns

Biron in net... Marty the rebound party .. an Islander cast off.. 5-2 Isles. - niteislander
Martin Biron is 21-4-1-0 with a 2.00 GAA and two shutouts in 26 career regular season games vs. the Islanders.

Sorry unlike you, I don't have to "crank one out" to anyone. Avery is on his way out (good riddance) but it appears from these posts that these piles fans have an obsession with him. Make sure you use protection. |

Get past the first round one of these years before you start declaring your team awesome.
Isles are in the basement. You're supposed to beat a team with that record.

i agree, Reasoner has brought nothing to the table. Also, Capuano coaching decesion have cost us quite a few games.
Nino on the 4th line in favor of wallace.
Grabner and KO will learn you dont sleep and leave Gaborik unmark in faceoff circle.
I mean really? He is their only major scoring threat. You should have someone on his everytime he on the ice.
And pulling the goalie before you even gain the offensive zone? Thanks for ending the game 2min early instead of given us a chance to tie it. |

truth is in order to win games Tavares has to start scoring yea he plays a solid game but we need goals from him. Wish Montoya wasnt hurt and Ullstrom played - BOBBYBOWS
His line scored the 2 we did get last night. The issue is the other lines need to score. Grabner HAS to score on the open net. He put it right into Biron's pad on other side of net... awful.
Terrible penalty by PA right after Isles pulled within a goal. Terrible call by Cap pulling the goalie with over a minute and half left in game. If the defense at least Knew he was going to do it... maybe, but once Nielsen did not get the puck deep it was just dumb. |

the same dude that said bailey would out play dubi, step and artie. - tomburton99
I never said anything about Bailey being better than Dubi.. I said that comparing Dubi to Moulson and Grabner were stupid. I said Bailey has played a lot better this year and I would rather him than Anisimov.. and still feel that way. Bailey played very well last night. He was not on the ice for any Rangers goals and tried to set up the guys on his lines a few times. If you reread my posts I said he had developed into an excellent 2 way player and to WATCH HIM... obviously you did not watch him for a minute b/c he had at least 3 solid back checks that saved easy goals. |

I think if the Islanders want to salvage this season they need to make a coaching change now before it's too late. Of course I'm stating the obvious here but it's my birthday today and my wife says I can do as I please. - BringBackBalky
You can't change coaches every ten minutes. They just hired this guy 13 months ago. Continuity and consistency are needed if you want to have success. Its no coincidence that the Isles have had about 13 coaches since Al Arbour left after the 93-94 season and the fact that the team has sucked for nearly all of that time.
Winning teams don't change coaches every two years. They find a guy and stick with him. Truth is, no coach worth hiring and replacing Cappy with wants the Isles job. There is too much uncertainty with the club's future address and the organization is run like s**t. Keep Cappy until a legitimate NHL-tested and proven candidate can be hired to replace him. I don't want to see any more AHL guys using the Isles as their first shot at the NHL. |

The fact of it is, the rangers are the better team, it's not a shot at the islanders, it's just true. The islanders have a lot of talent and potential. They just need leadership from within to build around JT and guys like that.
And I think you would all agree Montoya is your number 1 right? - TrueBlue9182
The Islanders need a new owner and an arena. Until they get that, they'll never compete. And yes, right now, Montoya is the #1 and should be. Hopefully, Poulin or Nilsson share the net with Montoya next year and one of the kids displaces Montoya as the #1. |
