First it was Lundqvist is only reason Rangers do well behind a crappy D, and now the D is suddenly really good with Girardi and McD playing half the game, two rookies on the 3rd pair, and MDZ and some dude that couldn't even crack the Devil's defense..Think it has more to do with Lundqvist playing lights out..He may not be the best goalie in the league/world, but he's top 5 and not many can legit argue against that

I would not put Henrik at top spot but he is certainly close (top 5 minimum). He needs to come up huge in playoffs to take top spot though.. (just ask Luongo.. guy has a gold Medal and they still hate him up there).

I would not mind either Boston goalie by the way.. Pekka Rinne would be in my top 5 too.

So the one knock on Lundqvist is performance in the playoffs. Fine, but you'd put a goalie who blew a 3-0 lead in the playoffs(Rask) and another goalie who has reached the same level in the playoffs(Rinne), in elite territory?

If you seriously go down the list of every starting goalie in the league and come up with two more goalies better than Lundqvist, debatable would be putting it mildly.
