Back will probably never be healed. Every guy in that room is banged up to a certain extent. I'm amazed Hammer can walk considering all the rubber he sees. - SteveRain
Steve, I've been a big Bolland fan but don't see him as untouchable at all. The Hawks may not have another projected #1 center in the pipeline, but they have plenty of bottom 9 centers developing -- Shaw included -- that don't make 3+ million. Some should be ready before Bolland's contract is up. His play (and his line's) this year also isn't helping his case much. |

Frog Giroux said that.....LMFAO...this from a Frog that took a cheap, well acted dive....wasn't cut and the zebras sent Sharpie off for 4 minutes.....FORGET U Frog Giroux....WE GOT THE CUP on your ice.... - philco28
Congrats on being in the running of "dumb post of the night".
He wasn't cut? The Refs check the guy to make sure he is cut. They don't ask the player and take his word for it. If you take an errant stick to the face, my guess is you will jerk back and go down...it's called a natural reaction. |

Incoherent thoughts of the morning.
First goal was sexy. Jammers and Hayes seem to be developing some nice chemistry.
Shaw showed some very nice skill with his goal. The kid brought some good energy.
I feel like the defensive issues with the Kane/Hossa/Stalberg line are a direct result of the consistent line juggling that goes on with this team. It seemed like no one knew who their assignment was. That being said Kane was making a solid effort in the defensive end. They just need better consistency and communication IMO.
Bolland is looking better though not stellar at least not awful. Bickell is a boat anchor and needs to be disposed of asap, his turnovers and drag moves in his own zone are pretty unnecessary.
Solid game out of Keith... Not sure why he is getting ragged on...
Either way, it wasn't a thoroughly dominated contest by either team and over 7 games could go either way. 1 experienced forward/center would be very beneficial. |

I have no problem with the 2008-09 Bolland or the playoff Bolland. That's the Bolland I have no issue with. The Bolland who disappears and offers ZERO offensive out put for long stretches drives me insane. That's my issue. Guy needs to be sat down and demanded more of with offense. Right now....the 4th line creates more chances with lesser talent.
Extremely impressed with Shaw and Hayes is a beast. Lets see if they can keep it up for at least 10 games, before we go all Ben Smith on them. |

Bolland needs to be better offensively.
Keith falls asleep at times on the back door play. Hartnell wasn't a threat from where he was yesterday, only play was the pass. He's not last year bad...at all.
It's 1 game.....not the end of the world. |

Well, last night was a defensive zone nightmare, and hopefully they can figure it out. Anyone know who is in charge of the D? I'm assuming Kitchen, because he seems about as useful as Lady Bickel...(hit'em with your purse big man!!!)
I liked what I saw in our youngsters last night! Refreshing to see guys skating hard every shift! I'd like to see some different line combos with those boys...that look more like this to see what they can do.
Sharp/Toews/Hayes
Frolik/Kane/Hossa (please get well soon Kruger!)
Stalberg/Bolland/Shaw
Bollig/Mayers/Segal
Keith/Seabs
Hjalmarsson/Leddy
Olsen/Scott (don't laugh...he's no worse than OD at this point)
Sadley, this mess on our bottom pair makes me miss Montador, and that's a scary thought!!! How bad are we missing Kruger and his defensive responsible play on the 2nd line? Last night it was very evident! |

Havi's in charge of the D.
As for lines tonight, please get Kane away from C, granted he scored last night, but looked really off other than that. Shaw looked very sound last night defensively, he's a natural centre, so how about this?
Stalberg-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Bolland-Kane <-- Bolland's been useless, he needs a boast
Frolik-Mayers-Hayes <-- yes this as the 3rd, great game last night by them

Take a cab home Kaner.....and bring the correct change.....BLOWN POINT.
We are snakebit in that shat hole city....the Pronger goal in the final seconds 2 years ago...then tonight...
but we WON the game that really mattered...BUT THIS HURTS. - philco28
That Pronger goal, made possible by a lazy drop pass made by . . . Patrick Kane

Quote of the night: Flyers center Claude Giroux on facing the Hawks: “Anytime you think of Chicago you're going to think of them stealing the Stanley Cup from us.”
Hey Claude no team steals the cup from the other team. They earn it and are the first to 16 wins. Also your team never lead in the series. The Flyers name wasn't on it before the 2010 finals started...so get over it...YOU LOST...the Hawks BEAT YOU and did not STEAL anything from you!! Now go figure out how your team is going to get past the Rangers and Bruins this year. Good luck and may a first or second round exit be in your future!! - bogiedoc
Stealing the Cup? This team shouldn't call out anyone for stealing... pot meet kettle. |

The one I remember, Hawks had a one goal lead, and Flyers tied it with a minute left.
Then with 10 seconds left in the third, a Flyer took the puck from behind his goal all the way into the Hawks zone and scored with 2 seconds left.
I think that was in the SC season, but may have been the year before.
I remember it being a Sunday afternoon national TV game. - StLBravesFan
Nope, I believe Kane made a cutesie drop pass (to a Flyer) at the Philly blueline.
