About two seasons ago, Cote, Hartnell and Briere got divorced. Hartnell and Briere both have been playing better since then.

Carter and Hartnell were good buddies. The wife sleeping rumors were pretty ridiculous and untrue.

No matter what happened I give Homer all the credit to shuffle the deck on a team that went to the Cup...That took big stones.

He took advanatge of the trade window in Carter and Richards contracts and didn't hesitate. Unfortunately he overpaid for a goalie who is even a big head case for a goal tender.

All I know is Wayne Simmonds would look great in Chicago.

Is there any talk about coaching changes - Either during this season or the off-season? I really think that a defensive coach needs to be behind the bench to replace Kitchen. Is there a chance Steve Poabst (sp) will be promoted? Any chance that Keith's mentor (Yawney) can be brought in?

I'd love to see him as the head coach in Rockford next year.

Yes, that would be a great move! (if not behind the Hawks bench)

Kitchen is terrible!!!

Bobby Ryan for Patrick Sharp? That would be nice and I'd do that in a heartbeat, but Sharpie has a NMC, and a NTC, just had a baby, loves Chicago, so I don't think that's even a remote possiblity. That said, Bobby Ryan would look great in an indian head sweater!

Getzlaf is a more talented version of Bickel...lazy, lazy, lazy! NO THANKS!!!

We talked in the summer...That was the guy but the Hawks really had to promote from within.

It will take more than Sharp to get Ryan.

Or about as much chance as the Bears winning the Super Bowl this coming year.

Agreed. Homer really has done a great job, and I thought the Flyers would be lower in the standings than where they are now. The team is much more cohesive and plays with passion. They are still making some rookie mistakes, but that's to be expected. Homer extended the Cup window with this team for a while by trading away Carter and Richards.

I think Bryz will be fine in the long run, but he obviously needs to straighten things out in his head. Not really worried about the contract as much as his play recently.

Bryz is talented and if the goal keeping comes around and Homer finds another dman they could challenge for the Cup this year.

I had the rumor/story that Bill Peters was going to leave to be with Babcock in Det.

I wrote at the time the Ice Hog head coach appt. might be the most important decison of the summer for Bowman.

I though Trent Yawney would have fit like a glove but Dent was promoted.

That's a relatively superficial assessment of Getzlaf.

When he is motivated he is the big, nasty bastard plenty of Hawks fans want when they talk about another Top 6 center. Just ask Joe Thornton. Corey Perry didn't score 50 goals all by himself last year you know.

And I would rather him in Chicago than in St. Louis, Detroit or Dallas laying the lumber and body on Toews.

And I also think people tend to overrate Bobby Ryan.

Boys...

To be clear my comment meant....
Perry won't be traded....But Ryan or Getzlaf are in play.

Neither will be a Hawk although I would take Ryan in a heart beat...He would score 40 in his sleep here and 50 goals wouldn't be out of reach.

- Al

I'll take it! What'd the 'Hawks have to give back? Bolland a higher prospect and this years' #1?

Someone once said that about 53 goals as a rookie :-P

The only record that will truly never be broken in my opinion is Glenn Hall's 502 consecutive games played.

- andru2797

502 consecutive complete games played. That's right, wasn't pulled once in seven seasons.
