You must really be looking forward to 81-88-25 on a line then? Vic seems to be taking lessons for the Hoss as well (Queue bonehead comments about how Vic will never be close to the player those two are...tell us something we don't know while you are at it). I think these line combos have good potential. I think ultimately best thing for the team is 81-19 on separate lines most nights. True they are physically dominant when together, but the depth is too important for them to be together I think.

No doubt Rattlehead is doing much better---and my screaming at the TV has been greatly reduced (until Frolik's shift). And we owe 19, 88, 10 and 81 (and 15 as well) for that improvement. He's either going to do well here or he is going to be much more attractive trade bait than he would have been otherwise.

I understand your point---and obviously you can't advance against the East if you dont win the first 3 rounds. However, if I am the GM, I look at what is driving the best teams and try to replicate/match/top that, regardless of conference or division...and the best teams are in the East right now. I would like the Hawks to strive for the cohesion and multi-line scoring of the Boston team, along with the two way game the Penguins play. The Hawks have the goaltending and the scoring and the health (for now)---its all about the hits and D long term.

I don't disagree. For the Hawks they are not going to replicate or match the style of play of the Bruins/Flyers/Rangers. Their squad is not built in that fashion, regardless of how much grit they add at wing or D, the makeup of the team is just not the same. To the other side of the argument, those teams, while more physical, are not as skilled as the Hawks top players. Different styles, both can be effective.

Is there any possible way Carcillo plays for the Hawks again? Granted, we don't know the extent of his injury, but can the Hawks afford to take the chance? I am not a hater (although I initially hated the deal) and think he has done a lot of good things this season, but can you place all of that risk on a guy whose next suspension is 10 games minimum?
