Standings? I thought we were discussing who was better built for a playoff run.:-P

I'm just saying, nothing I've seen from the canucks or wings so far this year suggests they would withstand major injuries better than the hawks. All 3 teams also have holes and needs to address.

Wings seem to do it year after year. Especially last year.

Have not won in Phylly since 1996 and have lost 14 of the last 16....so where do you think the big money sits tonight??

Phylly only 8-6-2 at home. Goals for an against are similar for both teams.

I expect at least 7-8 goals scored. Hawks with two rooks making there 1st NHL games....I don't know...not all that confident with how the Hawks have been playing lately. A loss tonigh tonight and that will make 3 of their last 4 losses and we will all be back on the ledge. Nucks have passed them and Wings and Blues are right on their tails!

In the book Hockey's Glory Days there is a section entitled " Hawks Haunted by '67 Failure".

They finished 17 ponts ahead of Montreal and 19 points ahead of Toronto in the standings.

Sawchuk beat them by himself in Game 5 at the Stadium. From the book: "Bobby Hull knocked him flat with his first shot, a rising slapper that practically tore Sawchuk's shoulder from his body. Several minutes passed before the veteran goaler could stagger to his feet, gingerly flexing his arm and shoulder. Then he told Imlach he wanted to carry on".

Last paragraph : The Leafs captured the Cup in six games - a Cup that, say many, rightfully belonged to the Blackhawks. Any old time Chicago fan will tell you that."

And look at the upside and competition: even equal says Van, SJ, Det are looking to improve, too. Standing still probably means falling behind to someone(s).

Wings have even more cap space than the Hawks. You better believe they will make a significant move before the deadline. (They also have something like $23 million to spend next offseason!!) All the more reason to make a big push to add the pieces needed to win a Cup THIS YEAR!!!

I dont see the Hawks trading Bolland, tho I wish they would, I am a Wings fan and would love to see him (And Seabrook, too he kills us!!)out of the division. Problem is, the hawks are dangerously thin at center, if anything they gotta be buyers at that position. I know they are in good shape cap wise, and one rumor I keep reading is Derek Roy to chicago. Problem is, the wings and Hawks both have cap room, and I kind of get the impression they are waiting for the other one to blink first. Looking forward to a regulation win for the flyers tonight!!
