Spags is on vaca, too. He felt he needed time after being fired. He'll get used to it if he plans to remain a coach, no matter how much interim success you have, you get the boot eventually. - bodiva88
Im really hoping that the Eagles can land Spags. With a legit defense this team can be dangerous. We all know the Eagles throw the ball alot but if they can scale that back alittle and turn the ball over less they will be just fine. |

When you commit to a guy for nine years at millions you kind of have to do almost everything to make it work. That being said if that guy is being clearly outplayed and his attitude appears flaky then we may have a problem. I mean Bryz announcing he was not starting the WC game and his remarks were hillarious but in reality if I was the coach and he did that we would have a serious problem. A coach needs his players to follow and listen and not a player who appears to be on his own comedy channel. - flyerdude17
Thats part of my issue with Bryz this year. He seems to be more worried about talking to the media and having his face on TV than playing hockey. Im sure he is actually working hard and doing the right things but the impression he is giving makes me think the opposite. Thats why the other day I was glad that he didnt say much to the media. Lets focus on getting your game back so we can make a run at the cup. |

ROSTER UPDATE: Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that the club has loaned (D) Matt Walker to Adirondack & recalled (D) Erik Gustafsson from Phantoms. - MBFlyerfan
I thought Walker was already a phantom. I haven't seen him on the ice.
See what I did there? Works both ways.

How does Bryzgalov's attitude seem flaky? He's been pissed off after losses, and he's been repeatedly called one of the hardest workers at practice.
He's struggling so he has to change his personality? The guy likes to joke around. Since he is struggling, should he be brooding about it, and dwelling on it, because idiot fans think he's not taking his job seriously? That's inane.
Right now, Bob's earned more playing time. But since the GM who signed Bryzgalov to that contract is still Laviolette's boss, the contract will be a factor in just how much playing time each goalie gets. |

Tru Dat
If I was a player I want who is playing better to start. The other guy works hard in practice and keeps a positive attitude. IMO that's the best way for your team mates to have your back. Especially if one is prone to be slightly eccentric. |

He's refused to talk to the media twice in the past few days, how does that give you the impression that he wants his face on TV? |

Im not at practice everyday but im sure Bryzgalov is working hard to get his game back together. I just think his personality (joking around) looks bad when hes playing bad. Now if he was dominating like we thought he would people could careless and think hes funny. There is a medium there were he needs to know when to scale it back. I love Bryz though. |

It's just getting a little thick. You want Bobrovsky to start, the sole reason should be because he's playing better. Bryzgalov was a bit of a goof ball in Anaheim and Phoenix and his play was more than good.
As for the stuff about him wanting to be on TV, he's not in charge of what HBO showed. He has blown off the media twice in the past week, as well, so not sure how that's trying to get his face on TV |

I said he refused to talk this time. I think it was appropriate. Im saying it seems like he is more worried about the media and having his face on TV. That isnt what I think he is actually trying to do. |

Listen buddy I do not appreciate being called an idiot and would love to have you say that to my face. Nobody said he should change his personality but it would be appropiate not to joke around when you are playing like poop. It is okay to joke when you are winning and playing well but not when you are struggling. If I was a team mate and he was joking around after a loss I would personally pop him in the nose. |

His personality is his personality. He had the same personality when he was doing well, should he turn into (frank)ing Morrisey or Kurt Cobain when things are bad?
As long as he is working hard on his game, which by most account he is, then I don't care if he's telling jokes in the room. |

I think your taking my words way out of context. Im saying I can understand why people think it can be scaled back. When a goalie is playing bad nobody wants to see him joking around on TV or with the media. Does that bother me personally? No. But I can see how it would give some people the wrong impression. Is that wrong? |

The Flyers went from having almost no viable prospects to leading the NHL in rookie scoring.
That is pretty amazing.
I have confidence the D needs will be met, but maybe not until the off season.
I am OK with that.
Although the rest of this season will be hard on the 4 regular defenseman and the goalies if he doesn't acquire someone as a stop gap measure.

I didn't call you an idiot. There's a lot of folks that shred him for his personality, without bothering to realize he acted the same way when he was playing great.
When was he joking around after a loss? I must have missed that. Last time I saw him after a loss he said that he sucked, he cursed twice on live TV... |
