nope, not replacing Carle at all. he's a bottom-pairing defenseman who can help out on the PP. no one on the blue line has a shot like his, other than Pronger, though. - bradleyc4
they should get jake to rip some bombs from the point while he's back there. |

Only reason we have these long term contracts is to lower cap hits. There has to be a better way to do it. - stveshdy
it's not good for the player should their career go awry. they get stuck, the team gets stuck. sure they've got the money, but that can't be the only factor here. |

How the (frank) does Luke Schenn, a physical, stay at home type, replace a puck mover who is mobile like Matt Carle?
I'd be interested in Schenn, but Burke is not going to give him away. I'd bet he'd want a 1st rounder and a guy like Read for him.
More likely, IMO, is Cody Franson, who has been in and out of Wilson's doghouse. - Jsaquella
He doesn't replace Carle, but he might fill Pronger's shoes. |

That goal last night that Carolina got is a microcosm of what's wrong with this team in their zone. Failure to get the rebounds and leaving someone wide open in close proximity to the net. Bobrovsky should have got a shutout but he got left hung out to dry. I know it was a penalty kill but still. Yes they got a win, beata team they were supposed to, but another blown coverage on another goal. On that play there's a forward drifting out to the point/perimeter, I think it's Giroux but I'm not sure, either way they refused to get in there and battle for the rebound. Stuff like that is leading to goals. |

I was more pissed about the penalty.. a stupid play by kimmo.. but he has earned the benefit of the doubt. |

Probably leight but....
According to Pierre LeBrun, Ryan Suter is number one on the Flyers list. After that is a bunch of defensemen, including Tim Gleason. |

Miracle on Ice? Yes.
Edit: Not Gary Suter. His dad is Bob Suter. But, like I said, he was on the Miracle on Ice team. |

I gave up with spending emotion on penalties outside of the playoffs a long time ago. Whether you get a bad penalty or not each player to a man needs to be accountable defensively. This gets overlooked because of the scoreboard by the fans and media. Look I like both goalies I could care less at this point who is the starter, except for the fact the Flyers need Bryz to get going otherwise bet throttled by his contract. If these guys aren't going to play tight in front of either goalie forget it. Until then there will be a goalie controversy b/c unless you catch lightning in a bottle with a goalie you aren't getting one that can constantly make up for bad breakdowns like those the Flyers commit. |

Hadn't read that yet. Not a real shocker though. I wonder/am scared as to what it takes to get him.. |

I also read that Nashville's GM David Poile is trying to resign Suter but will trade him if he has to. However, he wants a young offensive forward in return; not picks. |

Hmmm...JVR has underachieved a bit this year. He was a beast in the playoffs last year...actually...our only beast in the playoffs last year. But I would certainly do that deal. |
