That game just shows you how this team CAN play when they really care. How can you lose to Ducks and PHX like they did and then play like that last night? If they won ONE of those 2 last road games We are talking 4 wins in 5 games.. close to .500 finally. Instead the last place team got a random win.. nothing more. |

At least the Isles can count on a W from the Wings every year. I wanna say this is 4 years in a row they've beaten the Wings, 3rd time smashing them. |

While I enjoyed the game, this team only wins when the top line carries them. Secondary scoring isnt something we have thanks to the line combinations. We all enjoy wins but this team has been a huge disappointment this year. |

There is no secondary scoring because there are no secondary players who are good enough to be relied upon to score. Grabs and PAP are the only players not on the first line who have done anything this season, and PAP was on the 1st line for the majority of the year. I really feel that KO's "improvement" is the direct result of being on a line with two legit offensive threats, not KO's improved play. The Isles over-estimated the offensive contributions of guys like Rolston, Nielsen, Bailey, Comeau (when he was here) and Reasoner and there's no secondary scoring because of it.
That being said, Moulson and JT are playing great. JT is starting to look almost dominant out there. His hands and instincts are insane. Moulson just continues to score goals, no matter who he's playing against. If any of these other guys could get their s**t together this team could climb back into the playoff race. |

Let's be honest......the wings took the night off defensively, and started Conklin. Nuff said

One of my buddies put it best last night in regards to Okposos resent play. He said Okposos playing well is a direct result of him not carrying the puck. Tavares is so crafty all KO has to do is find the open ice......
Im one of Baileys biggest fans, but his play just lacks heart.......he plays with no jam. If you aren't scoring you need to play with more desperation....period |

Over his last 18 games he has 23 points (12pts in last 6 games). On the season it's 39 points in 40 games. If he manages 5 points over his next 4 games (his pace of late), he will have 44 points in 44 games. By comparison, Henrik Sedin leads the NHL with 50 ponits in 44 games.
What's more impressive is that Tavares has done this on the second lowest scoring team in the NHL while Sedin is on the second highest scoring team. No Tavares is not a 60 goal scorer, but he may well be one of the top 5 playmakers in the NHL not named Crosby and soon number one. |

How many fans hearts stopped for a second when they saw Tavares hunched over after being hit by the puck??

Sadly, this thing could turn around so fast if we simply added two players. One big tough guy dman and a true nasty power forward. Unfortunately they don't exactly grow on trees and we're not going to move value to get them. Last night was great exposure for Nabby, hopefully this upped his trade value/interest a bit. |

One win is not going to make me stop the Venom. What are you talking about Dee?? It is one win that is all. Once this team wins like 5 or 6 in a row then the Venom will stop. One win does not change all the rpoblems this team still has. It is games like this that make Wang and Snow and sit there and say see I told you so we dont need to do anything we can beat anyone.
On a side note another reason why JAck should not be coaching in the NHL. Who the hell takes a time out with 20 seconds left up 5 - 1? If I was Babcock I would have went after JAck and gave him a beat down. That is so Bush League in my book and you want to know why we dont get respected. Look at our clueless coach.
See Dee still plenty of Venom and more to come after Philly comes in here and beats us yet once again, and I guarentee you Nabby is in net as well |

Problem with Okposo is that he is as good as his line is going to be. That is why to me Okposo really is nothing special at all. Without Tavares playing with him he got nothing |

He's done well playing with Bailey before, and last season everyone was ready to crown KO-Nielsen-Grabner the Second Line of the Century. KO had a horrible 20 games to start this season, but he started turning it around before he went to the first line...that's why he was the one promoted. He's gone into overdrive since then, but I think anyone's performance would improve playing with Tavares instead of Nielsen...said with all due respect to Nielsen. |

our team would be a world better if neilsen was our third line center and we had a 60-70 point second line center

You stole my thunder Kasper. We seem to own the Wings for some unknown reason. Nothing more nothing less. As you say. Put together a string of 7 or 8 wins over the next 10 games or so and then lets talk about success.
Did we get an explaination on Capt Jack's time out? Maybe he was choked up over the win?
We get One point over the next two game Pal! |

And most importantly I think we need a D-man who can run the point on the PP. I know the PP has been pretty good as of late but Streit is just not getting it done from the point anymore. He looks like he's terrified to shoot the puck. He does seem to be turning his game around a little bit but this team needs a true #1 defenseman to move forward. And I'm not discounting Hamonic's ability or his potential to be that guy but we need a more established guy. |

I dont know as soon as I start praising them then they play crap the next game. So Iw ill say this Nabby looked phenominal last night Tavares is a beast and I dont know if anyone else noticed Jimmy Howard shceking out the ice girls as they walked by. |

I hear dhe calle dthe time out to rest of the first line. If that is the case if I was BAbcock I would have jumped him or put my goons out and attacked them. Bad call and bad all around for Jack but I dont expect anything less from him.
One point against the Flyers and Buffalo? Hmmm I am going to say we lose to Philly and beat Buffalo - kasperrko

JT makes everyone he plays with better. I'm just thankful KO is actually productive. But I'm not impressed with his overall game.
He calls himself a power forward? Not yet. Start crashing the crease. Banging bodies and battling with "D" men. Put in some DIRTY GOALS. In other words, get physical. Then we open the discussion of whether your a Power forward. But all in all. KO is starting to produce.
How many of Grabners goals came while playing with JT? Just wondering.
Same with PAP. How many points has he gotten since moving off the top line? I really havent checked.
JT is just coming into his own. He's on the cusp of elite. And when the final picks are made for the All Star Game in Ottawa. I have a sinking feeling JT will NOT BE THERE!
I believe Matt Moulson will be the single Isles representative. He deserves to go
but so does JT. |
