He is taking advantage of the ice time he has been given. Isn't that what we hope the entire team does? Pap is a legit 2ndtier playmaker and I would hope that the fact he is taking advantage of his ice time is a good thing. You make it sound like anyone would have 30something points given the same ice time. - Isles316
you meaning playing the top line with john tavares and matt moulson??? ya, i think 30 something points is the minimum a player should have.....put nino in his spot, i guarantee more points.
PAP skates like its a Brian Boitano special, i'm shocked i havent seen him attempt a triple lutz yet |

Well, in fairness, we did nothing for two years but raid said AHL team for players. It's hard to win consistently when you're sporting a different squad every night. That said, AT THIS LEVEL, I agree- we need a coach who instills a little bit more fear than this one does, IMHO. - dcb1
exactly and he still made the playoffs cappy was not a failure in bport |

Let it go already. You hate him like I hate DP but at least there is good reasons for that as DP has been non existant hurt every year, and thinks he is king |

He might have been decent in the AHL but decent coaches do not get NHL jobs. He was cheap and they wanted to keep to this system that clearly does not work at all |

are you really expecting accolades for hating dipietro?! wow, you (and EVERYONE else having to do with the islanders) hates dipietro. great!!!
it takes an idiot to hate someone that obviously isnt good for the team (and worthless). it takes a little bit of foresight to predict whether a player is good for the team or not. i happen to think parenteau is very overrated at this point, id trade the guy in a heartbeat and i think the islanders can get more production from other players if they were given the same chances. |

OY Veigh!! PAP is good for the team and I have to give him some credit for this power play we have going. He is a great play maker. Your argument about KO (which you seem to be madly in love with, and also Haley) I look at it like this. I have nothing against KO I just feel he is over rated. You put him on the first line cause he is slumping of course he is going to get points. He is still playing the same style KO really has not changed just has better line mates. PAP you put on the second line and even though he has some power play points he is still getting points. KO could not get it done without Tavares and Moulson PAP can. You have no basis of hating PAP as he has done nothing for you to hate him. A defense lapse now and then but KO has blown many of those defensive assignments as well |

Oh and no need for the name calling. It takes an idiot to actually even right that. You dont know everything about the Islanders and you really dont know what is best for this team. That is why you are not the GM and neither do I. I dont afree with about 95% of the things Snow does but that is because Wang tells him everythign and he has no clue. |

Saying he's not good and saying I'd trade him are two different things. I think PA's a useful depth player: a guy who, on a good team, you can put on the third line where he can set up a big center that goes to the front of the net, and who can also move up to the top two lines temporarily as injuries occur.
That said, if someone was only looking at point totals and was willing to give up something good for him...or if he was an add-in to a deal that would bring back something good, obviously I'd move him. He's useful, not essential. |

A lot of anger in here. I think I actually started the "KO" trade talk and I only did it because of the discussion about a legit PP QB. It was just a question as I was suggesting he had trade value and if you got an impact PP QB, would it help the team. I like the kid.
In regards to prospect talk, Strome is the real deal. I was actually hoping he slid one more spot to us because he's been a kid I've liked since he arrived in the O and got dealt for Pietrangelo. He's slick, he has an accurate one timer from the left side and makes a lot of good plays at high speeds. He'll be a perfect complement anchoring your second line behind Tavares and could easily slide into the top unit on the PP to really amp up the skill level. So, assuming both he and Nino make the team filling out your top six, the idea of moving KO for the PP guy was something I thought of. No offense, just talking puck kids...

i have no issue with pa as a bottom 6 forward..if nielsen and pa were third line player and we had real 2nd line players this team would be a hell of a lot better |

Not for nothing I heard Bailey was the real deal as well. I mean I hope Strome is cause he would look sweet (on the second line I would think) |

Now for the game at hand. I dont know I have a bad feeling about tonight. I think Flyers beat us not only on the score board but also in the hitting department. Nabby probably will be in net tonight. I say a 4 - 3 win for the Flyers tonight. |

Giving Strome time to develop and refine his craft is key. he wasn't ready this year, Bailey wasn't in his first year either. Bailey should have been staying with Windsor and helping them win their first of two Memorial Cups, but whatever. Lesson seemed learned as Strome is back in the O... where he belongs. I have zero worries about Strome becoming a useful NHLer. None what so ever. |

hahaha-- ehh, id say its more boredom than anger. a combination of too many days between games, the lack of thought provoking blogs, lack of excitement from the actual team, lack of trades/roster moves made throughout the season, lack of line changes makes for the conversation to sometimes deviate from hockey....it gets a little heated sometimes but its all in good fun, if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen |
