I don't give a rats ass about the all-star game, but Alex Ovechkin has less points than Hartnell, while being a -8, (Hartnell is + 19) and Washington has been on the fringes of the a playoff spot all year. If Ovechkin's name was Vladimir Jerkov, he wouldn't sniff the all-star team.
The entire event is an absolute circle jerk, that no gives a (frank) about. Get rid of the damn thing. - PLindbergh31

WTF
Wideman over Lidstrom. Nice. - bradleyc4
Lundqvist over Thomas is worse.

No flopping Vag on the all-star team? Blasphemy. |

I don't get it. Hopefully Seravalli is wrong. Wait a second, he's always wrong. |

pretty stupid that selanne isn't there over perry, too. gotta think some teams just say, don't bother with _______ - OrangeBlack27
Ovie, Iginla, Perry, Couture are all not having nearly as good a season as Scott Hartnell. |

I sorta get it. The Islanders suck but they're still a division rival. I don't think we can afford to have any sort of rust or any sort of margin for error. Suit up Gus Saturday against a West Coast Team. I would also scratch Burdon Saturday, not Lilja. - Schenn2shine
it's seems like Laviolette is reluctant to change the lineup coming off a win is what I take from it. |

Outside of Lundqvist, no All-Star goalie makes more than $2.75 million (Price).
Avg. cap hit of All-Star goalies: $2.85 million

Gus'll get his chance. Maybe his wrist still doesn't feel exactly 100% right. As I understand, he still counts against the LTIR money, so it's not like we're losing cap space on sitting him. |

Fine by me. Might be the best thing that happens to him. He can play with a chip for the rest of the season/playoffs and really make a point. Go for the Conn Smythe Scottie! That'll show 'em. I wish they'd have left Timmo off the list as well. He can always use the rest. Hell I'd like them to leave Giroux at home too...but I guess if they have to put on this meaningless show, the season he has had means they gotta include him. - Lexington Flyer
He was interviewed the other day and you could tell he was really hoping to make it because his family and friends could all be there. It'll be big for him and he's young enough to enjoy it. |

For a change, a good Hockey article written by Donellon.

yes that was a good one. funny, I was thinking the same thing that this yr might end up being a washout, but the balance of the deal may work out fine. |

Seriously, people. Outrage over no Lidstrom at the ASG? Figure it out. Same deal with Selanne. You're all better than that. #think

One of the first six chosen, with like 33 Ottawa players. |

Age should have nothing to do with it Bob, it should be the most deserving. What's the excuse for Hartnell not making it? |

I think Lilja and Mab should switch names. Lilja is by far a bigger Burdon. |

the trade talk made me a little nauseous
Jvr, Voracek, Read
really people? - Marc D
I'd trade Read... And, he'd probably welcome it. Right now - with the full line up -he's a 4th liner with Coots and Rinaldo or HarryZ. Frankly, I think Rinaldo/Coots/HarryZ make a fine line (actually better than when Read is in the line). I don't really want to trade Read, but I would do he were part of a package to get a better defenseman.
