I understand defenseman come at a premium to forwards, but I just don't like the trade of Jvr or even Jake Voracek for Schenn.
Jvr and Voracek I believe will be first line wingers.
I don't see Schenn as a #1-2 guy. I could be way off base, just giving my thoughts here. - Marc D
i have to deal w/ clients in Tornoto all the time...they certainly seem to think top pairing potential for sure. not only that but future captain, physical ice presence, ect. and whenever we play the leafs, i notice him
if you believe that, then giving up a future first liner (when you're stacked with em') makes sense |

Is it okay? I don't think it is when you're ignoring how the team in front of him is playing. I don't feel Bob has been leaps and bounds better then Bryz by any stretch of the imagination. - Schenn2shine
Me either, and i've said that in every post i mentioned both of them today. But Bryz as a goalie hasn't been as good as he can and should be.
Do you honestly believe Bryz has been on top of his game and the team has been the only reason he hasn't played well? |

Bryz is only going to be as good as the team in front of him, as he has in the past. The Ducks won a Stanley Cup and the Yokes played a very sound defensive system. Believe it or not, this is a new challenge for Bryz. |

I think of Bryz as a top tier goalie in this league. Even if he was going to be bad I would of never expected his numbers to be where they are today. I still believe he can turn it around and be successful this year. |

Can someone explain to me why Ovie received an invite over Backstrom?
The NHL is an utter joke sometimes. That's just sad. |

I do agree with this. My only thing is the team wont be good every night and at some point he is going to have to go above his level and win some games for us. |

So goalies are not required to be held responsible? You can't evaluate them at the position they play without evaluating the whole team?
Goalies win games and goalies lose games, just like teams do. I think you are way off here.
The point is you can evaluate Bryz as an indivual player without considering the whole team. And IMO, Bryz hasn't been as good as he can be. I haven't once said the team hasn't contributed to his struggles. |

The name. Every year there are players who deserve to make the All-Star team and dont. Dont the fans vote? |

i think they vote on the starters...then the rest is done by NHL? could be wrong.
also, think about this: A game that no one but kids care about NOT having the names and players kids care about. |

i think the words kettle, black, calling, ect could be used
j/k
i think all fans are "homers" in their own way...there are PLENTY of hockey fans that would shoot down flayers' fans opinion that JvR is worth what he is.
edit: added "flyers' fans opinions" instead of fact |

Whatever it takes. A wise man once said....
"Oh, Adrian. Adrian always tells the truth. No maybe I can't win. Maybe the only thing I can do is just take everything he's got. But to beat me he's gonna have to kill me, and to kill me he's gotta have the guts to stand in front of me, and to do that he's gotta be willin to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that. I don't know. I don't know." |

I would do that trade...L schenn has great potential...in the three years JVR only impressed for 6 games. |

Why are the New York Rangers good every night and the Philadelphia Flyers aren't? Even with taking a step back by moving on from big names such as Richards, Carter and Leino, we're still on paper a more skilled team. King Hank is having a solid team but as 24/7 pointed out, the moment that team stops playing, even the Rangers lose. The Rangers game against the Blues is a prime example. |

No one is saying if the team dont play good he will lose. Then why sign a top tier goalie? If your team always plays good then you should be able to win with Bob/leighton/Boucher. Your goalie still needs to step up and help out when the team plays bad. |

I could care less. He's been the better player of the two over the past 2 seasons now. That's who should be their representative.
Ovie is the most overrated superstar the game has ever seen. |

edit: actually in those 4 games he really only impressed for like 15mins or so each.
so i guess that really rounds out to like 2.5 games |
