Scoreboard..? What about it? A powerplay goal on a clear dive. As the person above you said bs penalty and Coburn boarded the poop out of someone clear behind the net. Oh lets also not forget amac getting clipped in the mouth no call - i_Evaluate2

kind of hard to judge officiating after 20 minutes. I thought the Flyers might have had a bit of a gift penalty on the PP goal, but those things often even out over the course of the game. |

They had a penalty shot because Grabner blew by Timonen and was subsequently hooked on the breakaway - eayost
Right but point being worst officiating ever would have missed that |

I'd say the reffing has been awful thus far. Several missed calls and then a couple of ticky-tack BS calls...the refs have to be better, or at least more consistent. |
|
|
|
I felt the Flyers started well and then went to sleep. It's good to see the top line get it together. I like the look of that PP unit of Giroux, Briere, Hartnell, Timonen and Jagr. Interesting Laviolette made a change there seeing how I never thought the PP was a problem. Either way, good stuff. |

Are you gonna female dog about every call/noncall?
We have enough of those people here as it is. - Yosimar89

Excuse me, your perfectly reasonable and honest appraisal of the game is interrupting obnoxious picture posting time. |

Agreed, that is one heck of a 1st PP unit. |

Not a real good period. Really lucky to be up. A lot of time spent in the Flyers end of the ice. Other then the PS, not a ton of quality chances, but still a lot of attack time for the Islanders. Flyers need to get their forecheck going. Poor period for Lilja, but he'll rebound. |

The problem with the PP is it's either really good looking, or really bad looking. The first PP they gave up a breakaway that led to a penalty shot. As good as the PP has been statistically, it should be even better. |

Good to see Islander fans aren't immune to losing yet. |

If the Flyers put Gustafsson in a Lilja jersey in between periods, do you think the Fishsticks would notice? |

JVR and Betts for Schenn - wilsonecho91
If they're trading JvR, it better be more than Schenn coming back...and I like Luke Schenn quite a bit. |

I have to place blame on Laviolette. I can understand the notion of resting the other 4 defenseman while a PP is going but a guy like Meszaros deserves to be on the Power Play and he's likely to do a better job on it then JvR at the point. When this season is all said and done, if Meszaros point production is low, he'll be roasted by fans. In my opinion, it isn't his fault if he isn't being put in a position to succeed. |

I don't disagree. JvR at the point is dreadful. But Laviolette's not the one playing catch with the puck on the perimeter for 1:30 of the PP, or the one losing the faceoffs at the start of the PP, which wastes 20 seconds. |
