If they're trading JvR, it better be more than Schenn coming back...and I like Luke Schenn quite a bit. - Jsaquella

I have to place blame on Laviolette. I can understand the notion of resting the other 4 defenseman while a PP is going but a guy like Meszaros deserves to be on the Power Play and he's likely to do a better job on it then JvR at the point. When this season is all said and done, if Meszaros point production is low, he'll be roasted by fans. In my opinion, it isn't his fault if he isn't being put in a position to succeed. - Schenn2shine

Do you think having Luke would help B Schenns developement progress? It would be nice to have a pair of talented brothers |

take a look..........unless picks would also work

I could live with a pick coming back. Not going to get Gardiner, Kadri, Colbourne or Aulie. Matt Frattin's skilled as Hell, but not sure how he fits with the existing offensive depth. |

After thinking about it for a day... maybe I'm nuts/stupid, but I think I'd do JVR for Schenn. An obvious gamble, but he's young enough that I imagine his potential would come through. He'd fit age-wise with our core well too. Don't have any D-men like that now, and even if we're lucky and draft one in the next year or two, most likely, given where the Flyers pick, the guy would be at least 4-5 years off from being a high impact player. It'd be tough, but you gotta give to get. |

I don't disagree. JvR at the point is dreadful. But Laviolette's not the one playing catch with the puck on the perimeter for 1:30 of the PP, or the one losing the faceoffs at the start of the PP, which wastes 20 seconds. - Jsaquella
No question. I think Laviolette has wanted to spread the wealth when it comes to the PP. Briere runs on and Giroux runs the other. In past years, the top one is normally stronger then the second unit. I think we should get top heavy again on the PP. |

According to Dreger and Lebrun, Burke has coveted JVR since he became GM of the Leafs. He hasn't offered Schenn for him but if a power foward such as JVR was available, no player on the leafs is considered "Untouchable". Leafs are very much in the market for a power forward.
Even if it was Schenn+ for JVR, I'd be weary about trading the best player in the deal. Especially when he is just scratching the surface of his potential. |

I think that staying healthy will do more for Brayden Schenn than his brother being here.
I think Luke's potential is second pair shut down guy, with a bit of offensive ability. He's physical, too. Guys like that are not common, especially with a RH shot.
JvR could be 30 goal scoring power forward. Those are more rare than what I feel Luke Schenn will be. Considering the ages involved, future potential is a huge factor in a deal of JvR and Schenn |

I hope he covets JVR, because look what happened to Boston when he coveted Kessel. |

If its one thing Homer doesnt do is panic. He wont be afraid to make a deal whether JVR is the better name. |

You can't compare the two because they have different skill sets.... We need the D more than we need jvr right now....overal they are bot at the same level for their respective skill set |

I'd want a 1st, or a couple of seconds at least. I'd make Burke overpay for JvR. There are other defensemen out there. |

That should have been 4 minutes. 2 for a hook, and 2 for a trip. |
