No. If I trade for him I have the chance to sign him before he hits the market where it can becoming a bidding war with another team. I wouldnt trade more than a 6th round pick for Gill (who I think is washed up). I would actually rather plug in Gustafsson than add Gill (who has plenty of playoff experience).

A guy on facebook worked out all the math on last night for a deal that sent JvR to the Canes for both Ruutu and Gleason. I felt bad explaining to him that if if those 2 sign elsewhere, the Flyers literally traded JvR away for nothing.

actually our other goalie has stolen about a half dozen already and actually has a shutout to boot.

Gill isn't washed up. He's not that mobile, but then again, he never was. He's a big solid body that can handle a lot of minutes.

Gleason's a good 4/5 guy, not much more. Gill's a solid 5th defenseman, even at his age. Gleason's more mobile, but he also takes more bad penalties. To me, more important to not squander assets than overpay for a slight upgrade.

Thats your opinion, I think Gill is washed up. I dont value Harry Z that high when I can upgrade my defense. We just have different opinions on that.
