They got Pineda though. I think its a win win trade. Mariners needed hitting and the Yanks needed pitching. Both players have big upside.

we got pineda?

The Yankees traded Jesus Montero....
- rmiethaner

we have depth at catcher position and montero isn't great behind the plate. should be an excellent batter. Gary sanchez is projected to be the best one i believe

franchises fault for locking him up for 15 years.

You would have thought that they'd learn from the Yashin experience.

There is no justification for any player being signed beyond ten years. At the time though, DiPietro was a young and promising goalie. The deal looks egregious now and probably would have, regardless of what was to come, but Wang and Co. really thought this guy was going to be a great goaltender.

Turns out he has been anything but. The combination of him always being on the shelf and mediocre play has made this contract probably the worst in professional sports.

How he is still holding onto an Islander roster spot is anyone's guess. He needs to be bought out, regardless of their current financial woes.

Newsday has Dubi likely out again, hopefully Wolski shows a little more umph tonight. Got a feeling Torts will go mad with the line changes. As long as we win, big game.

Many believe Pineda has the potential to be better then King Felix.

yeah, I love the Yankees moves last night.

Montero was shaping up to be a DH, and Arod may have to be moved there permanently. Good stuff.

Potential can be a byatch though as some people in baseball believe Noesi has better long term potential then Pineda

I may be way late on thsi but did anyone else see this tweet (that was deleted) by Mike Richards?

So the NHL thinks we should all wear visors so why do we get penalized if we fight with them on? #whatajoke

(frank)ing hate him even on the Kings.. That is the dumbest logic I have ever seen.

1) Girardi
2) Staal
3) etc

list idea, and I was like wtf they stealing our idea!

2nd cheapest D in the league not bad... Gotta think it'll be okay paying a little for a guy like DZ.

BTW, I don't think I got in the Ryan talk.

I would do something along the lines of

Arty or Dubi, McIlrath, Sauer, 1st (though maybe a second depending on whether it's ARty or Dubi they take), for Bob Ryan.

I dont know if I wanna give up both Sauer and McIlrath, we'd be giving up our current crease strength and our future crease strength. One or the other is cool. We gotta hope Sauer comes out of this concussion 100% though. Id rather throw in a 3rd round pick in the following years draft than throw in another potential starter. So maybe do something like... Dubi/Arty, Sauer, 1st in 2012, 3rd in 2013.

seems fair although i think i'd rather keep McIlrath and trade Erixon. i feel like McIlrath is gonna be a BEAST.

Dunno, after the Erixon debacle in Calgary I dunno if many teams would take him...

I do to, but to give to get, and I'll give any prospects not named Miller or Kreider.

Yea Id try every possible scenario not involving Miller and Kreider... but if they really wanted Miller, Id hope Sather doesnt offer up the 1st round pick right away. If it happens and they trade Kreider, Id be disappointed, but Id understand why they did.

Just to take the minority position here, I would rather hold onto McIlrath over Miller.

He is more likely to earn a permanent spot on the roster, although Miller could too as a 3rd line center, although he has the potential to be a 2nd line center.
