I disagree. The Wings didn't put a shot on net for more then half of the 3rd. They say back in my opinion. If they lose, they lose in Flyers fashion and it's well deserved against the Wings. This game is up for grabs. - Schenn2shine

Not worth it for the Flyers. Two UFAs for what? - Schenn2shine
If the Flyers made a deal for them, they would have to be in the plans beyond this year. |

I think he's much more then a supporting player. He is playing on the Wings top line. - PLindbergh31
The Wings top line is all over the place all year around. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Bertuzzi, Cleary and Holstrom are all capable of playing on that top line, as they all have in the past. |

He was good but if the wings don't sit back, they don't see OT. |

Ruutu is a really good player. He would be a nice fit for the Flyers. That package of Gleason and Ruutu would require significant assets going to Carolina. - PLindbergh31
I agree I was kidding when I said GID Homer. The Canes would want too much in return. WTF is this the Walmart of shopping players???? package deal? poo poo mcgoo |

True. They have a bunch of skilled interchangeable guys. Bertuzzi's cap hit is 1.9 million. Absolute steal. |

When Knuble left and we were unsure if JvR was physically strong enough to replace him, Bertuzzi was a UFA. Man did I want that guy. He's a Flyer. |

Hate to be off topic here, but has anyone been following that Hovinen kid? Is he a legitimate future NHL goalie? - JoeRussomanno
This is the type of post that should not be off topic. The Shelley talk should be as it gets old fast. As far as an answer, I have no idea and will defer to Bill's expertise. |

I really hope he starts feeling better soon. It has to be just an awful thing to have to deal with everyday. |

Man, that's terrible. I hope he just stays away from the game until/if he feels better. If he decides to retire, it's a sad day, but I really don't care about that. Just hope he's able to live a normal life with his family.. nothing else for him to prove in this game.
Get well big guy. |

Well, he won't retire for 5 more years so he can stay on LTIR. I'd love to see him come back, but don't want him being messed up for life after hockey. Hopefully, he'd be a Flyers assistant coach before long. |

I wonder if the new CBA will be revised to not "punish" teams who have players who have endured career ending injuries. A guy like Lappy would have loved to continue to play, but couldn't. Yet he counts against the 50 contract limit, I believe, which is stupid.
With the sensitivity involving concussions, I would think the CBA would reflect some type of modification for players with career ending concussions.
