They need a defenseman before making the trade, don't they? Trading one defenseman to add another still leaves a need for a defenseman.

True they could move Read up, I just worry about putting all the eggs in one basket with Weber, plus the cap hit he will carry next year and beyond...but yeah, if Nashville would do JvR and Carle for Weber, I'd be in.

If they get Weber, I don't feel they need another defenseman. Timonen anchors one pair, and Weber the other. I go with that into the playoffs. No question that a top cap hit like that, clouds the picture. And I think your point about needing a complete team and not being top heavy with a few high Cap hits is a valid concern. It's puts them back into what they just got out of with recent deals.

I agree. I think Weber would be moved in the Summer, if at all. Then you have more teams able to get involved, and you know where the draft picks involved are at and teams will be more likely to make a big move because they have a camp to mesh the pieces.
