I agree who cares about Carter and Richards, they are gone. I would rather discuss our current players and how good they are or aren't playing.
I'm really excited about this team's young group of players. Look at how many rookies have played and how well the team is doing. Now that is something to really be happy about. IMO Homer should get a lot of credit for how he changed up this team. - LJF
Hopefully there's no sophomore slump next year cuz that would be a rough year lol

With a couple of key moves, this team has a very bright future as far as I'm concerned.
unfortunately for Preds and fortunate for just about every team in league both Suter and Weber are going to be available. Preds know the market for Suter and have offered him the money he's looking for, that's straight from Poiles mouth, Suter wont sign. He wants to be The Man, doesn't dislike Weber but doesn't want to be second banana anymore. Too bad. Preds are really in a bind with those two.

Have you read anywhere suter talking about liking or wanting to play for the flyers. I thought I read that somewhere
It has nothing to do with justifying the trade. It has to do with bashing a very good player with innacuracies. It was a good trade. Regardless of how early Couturier is playing well.
Jeff Carter and Mike Richards are gone. They aren't a part of this team anymore. Why can't the good young players be discussed and praised without criticizing past players? - MJL
its a sports team in philly, i appreciate your attitude to strive to be positive on all things but were you praising jeff carter when he missed a wide open net several times in crucial playoff games, sorry i cannot justify or be positive towards a guy making 5 mil a year in a town that is starving for a cup.

Make the right deal and it can really work out for the team. Flyers made a couple of good deals for Richards and Carter.

I guess it was all on Jeff Carter that they didn't win a Cup or beat Chicago. Do you want to go back and discuss that again. I'm game if you are. And we can find out who knows what. And after that we can move on to Mike Richards and complain about him and his bad attitude. And then we can move on to the partying at night. It'll be fun.

im sure there are several reasons and i have no doubt you have every single instance recorded in your brain, im not gonna challenge you on that, but im sure im not the only flyers fan that has those missed shots at very crucial times tattooed in there head.
im glad carter and richie are gone, im very happy with the return and every time cooter, jake, simonds, or schenn have good games or show flashes it just makes me fel good about the deals homer did.

If this puck gets buried there is a game 7, and maybe a Cup. Niemi was flat on his stomach, Carter had an entire net to shoot at and he shot it right into Niemi's mask. This play right here is Carter's legacy in Philadelphia.

If he buries that shot hes still in Philly along with Richards

Who knows. No sense in rehashing the past. I'm just pointing out the fact that bigtime clutch players bury that puck in the back of the net. Carter had some really good seasons in Philadelphia, but when I think of him, I think of this play.
Flyers have moved on from both Richards and Carter and have made solid hockey trades. I agree with other posters that there is no need to bash either of these guys when praising current Flyers players. That serves no purpose.

Okay I guess were going to discuss it again. If you watch the replay and know what your looking at, Campbell deflects the shot. Carter did not shoot it right into Niemi's mask. Okay your turn.

I feel the same way. When I think of the finals, I think of that play, Roo's OT winner and the Kane goal. There have been debates as to whether it was tipped etc, but regardless, Carter had a great chance to send us to game 7 and didn't get it done. Doesn't mean he sucks, doesn't mean he will never be good again etc. I still like Carter and Richards and wish them well. This is just fact. He didn't bury that one.

I do think that it is logical to compare players who are traded for ea other, though.

Of course he deflects the shot. If you are a Carter hater you ignore this fact. Facts are stubborn things aren't they?
But as has been said already, Every single time Carter shot the puck he missed the net and the team scored going the other way. It happened hundreds of time. Over 200 times a year if memory serves.

EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! - MBFlyerfan
And Couturier's shots go in the the net. Carter's do not!

Not going to waste time arguing with you. It's not worth my time. If the puck gets elevated it's in the back of the net.
Campbell deflects the shot right into Niemi, but every time a Flyers defender deflects a shot it's past Bryzgalov and in the back of the net, and then all the excuses start. Got it.

The puck was elevated. How does it hit Niemi in the mask if it's not elevated? Was Niemi's head lying on the ice?
Apparently! At 1:00, we'll be moving onto Mike Richards and his bad attitude and how he was a bad Captain. Not sure about tomorrow's agenda. Possibly a round table discussion on Jody Shelley.
