It's great that he's willing to spend but someone should have told him to hold his horses.

There are plenty of teams that want to give up players on long contracts through the season that are worth a lot of money. Guys like Jeff Carter are probably available again and would be a solid addition for a guy on the sabres with a high cap hit on a short term.

Heck, not that Booth is great but he's on a better cap friendly deal than guys like Leino and he was given away for nothing. (Sturm and Samuelsson)

i remember miller standing on his head for years...i remember fans worrying about him going to detroit...i remember people going gaga over him during his vezina run...

miller's having a bad year...this whole team, save for a few, is having a bad year...

From Oct. 2009 through much of Feb 2010 he was the best in hockey. That gold medal game though seems to have tarnished him somewhat.

Ehrhoff is fine. It's a $4 million cap hit. If he wants to pay half the money up front, then fine. If this team had a competent forward group, his stats would be a lot better than they are. It's kind of hard when a defense knows all it has to do is block Ehrhoff's shot lanes when he's on the ice because it knows their forwards aren't a threat to do anything.

Ville Leino, on the other hand was a senseless desperation move when they realized Brad Richards was hell-bent on going to the Rangers.
