I'm pretty sure they'd take a 1st, 2nd and Brassard. - golfingsince
you'd have to think that CBJ cant afford all the money on salaries so they would have to dump something significant. |

Jeff Carter or Umberger for Miller? - Meganuck
Id like to say Carter cause we badly need a center but with our luck and players god just take him and give us a goalie in return |

i remember miller standing on his head for years...i remember fans worrying about him going to detroit...i remember people going gaga over him during his vezina run...
miller's having a bad year...this whole team, save for a few, is having a bad year...
their drop in the standings is not only a team effort, but a complete organzational effort - b0s0o1
I agree b0s. remember last season , when we said miller needed a better defense ? we pretty much got him that . but if you put an al star defense in front of him this year . does he still stop the shots ? |

Ehrhoff is fine. It's a $4 million cap hit. If he wants to pay half the money up front, then fine. If this team had a competent forward group, his stats would be a lot better than they are. It's kind of hard when a defense knows all it has to do is block Ehrhoff's shot lanes when he's on the ice because it knows their forwards aren't a threat to do anything. - buffalofan19
The Canucks are a better team without Ehrhoff, regular and on the PP. His problem was getting shots through and never moving the puck around on the PP.
If he has a guy or 2 blocking his shooting lane, that usually means someone down low is open. He just never lifts his head to look.
Regehr was a good pickup though. |

carter played the wing a lot in philly, i haven't tracked him much in CB but if you're looking to solve our center problems, then carter would be a very poor choice. |

Meaning our thread tonight ? - cabin
What's better than collective anger, the usual genius moves that will never happen and an occasional racist comment since it is a holiday after all. What's not to be proud of boys? |

The problem here is, if you need an all star D for the goalie to play well, what the (frank) are you paying the goalie so much for? |

On this team, it's better just to wind up and pray it gets through. A pass to a forward on this team is going to end up as a turnover, whether he's open or not. |

Agree Regehr was the stud we needed to anchor our d.We already had Myers Leopold and Sekera to move pucks in my opinion. |

agreed . sucks to play the excuse card . managment did. most fans didn't . At least you never saw it posted by us . maybe Garf did. but as you know he doesn't represent most of us posters thoughts regarding the team. |

The Penguins are slipping. They have eighth place by one point. Last year, they built up such a lead before their stars went down that treading water merely kept them near the top. They're treading water now, but they don't have the head start they did last year. Injuries have affected them, whether they admit it or not.
That being said, the Sabres' problems go well beyond injuries. |

Here is my plea to Darcy Regier; Please be a seller at the trade deadline.
We have a lot of egos on this team and some of our most talented players are soft and head-cases.
Please trade Ryan Miller. He needs a change of scene. I don't want the structure of this hockey team to include a 6+ million goalie. Most goalies in the league are very close to one another in skill level, and I don;t think miller has played up to his salary in the last two years. It might be tough to unload him. but if any team with playoff aspirations has a goalie go down, trade them Miller for whatever you can, draft picks, prospects, players... i don't care, anything!
There are many players who are going into UFA status after this season. Any player that is not going to be resigned should be traded for draft picks or prospects. This list includes: Brad Boyes, Jochen Hecht and Paul Gaustad.
I would continue to shop Roy for a good deal, but i would not trade him unless you get a decent return, same with Stafford. They will both be better than they are now and their trade values will increase when they get rolling again. However, I don't want either player long term and would trade both of them in the next few years.
We are going nowhere this year, and if we can unload some salary and get something for players that are not part of the future we should do it. after all, If we tank this season we will draft high and with some extra draft picksvia trades we could really start building a future winner.

You can only do it for so long missing those kind of guys. Letang comes back tomorrow.
They aren't getting results but they will never fold like the Sabres either (no offense).
