The Penguins are slipping. They have eighth place by one point. Last year, they built up such a lead before their stars went down that treading water merely kept them near the top. They're treading water now, but they don't have the head start they did last year. Injuries have affected them, whether they admit it or not.

That being said, the Sabres' problems go well beyond injuries.

Crosby is out and thats their captain. means a lot for them anyways .Can't compair the sabres in that text. Pommer is doing ok with what he has. Just need more accountability from him. not himself but the players that are not following through. Maybe he needs to start naming names?

You can only do it for so long missing those kind of guys. Letang comes back tomorrow.
They aren't getting results but they will never fold like the Sabres either (no offense).

No offense taken gunner . you provide good insight from being outside. Keep it up

And yes as you know most the regulars have accepted this season as a wake up to ownership to change the sabres mindset to year 2011-12 and beyond

Here is my plea to Darcy Regier; Please be a seller at the trade deadline.

We have a lot of egos on this team and some of our most talented players are soft and head-cases.

Please trade Ryan Miller. He needs a change of scene. I don't want the structure of this hockey team to include a 6+ million goalie. Most goalies in the league are very close to one another in skill level, and I don;t think miller has played up to his salary in the last two years. It might be tough to unload him. but if any team with playoff aspirations has a goalie go down, trade them Miller for whatever you can, draft picks, prospects, players... i don't care, anything!

There are many players who are going into UFA status after this season. Any player that is not going to be resigned should be traded for draft picks or prospects. This list includes: Brad Boyes, Jochen Hecht and Paul Gaustad.

I would continue to shop Roy for a good deal, but i would not trade him unless you get a decent return, same with Stafford. They will both be better than they are now and their trade values will increase when they get rolling again. However, I don't want either player long term and would trade both of them in the next few years.

We are going nowhere this year, and if we can unload some salary and get something for players that are not part of the future we should do it. after all, If we tank this season we will draft high and with some extra draft picksvia trades we could really start building a future winner.

Get them out immediately! Boyes looks like he's at skate n shoot. Stafford's a guitar hero, Hecht is useless, and Roy's a cancer.... I don't care if we get picks in return. I'd rather have Kassian playing in Stafford's spot.

I wasn't drinking the "hockey heaven" koolaid before the year started but I also didn't think they would become so pitifully bad.

I really thought Miller was going to have a great season. He needs a change of scenery in the worst way.

Hello - is getting smoked by the Wings a suprise. This team sucks and the blame needs to focus on the directions of the team - i.e. coach and GM. Boyes can score goals - Stafford can score goals - Roy can score goal - Leino can score goals.

It is the system - it does not work. You can not change a team but you can change the system. You gets 14 years of failure in professional sports without getting fired. This isn't a fairy tale where the prince kisses the young girl to cancel the spell. This is a talented team with zero believe in their coach or his system.

The lesser of 2 evils is to fire Lindy - this isn't Vince Lombardi for god sake.

Me neither on the koolaid . agreed on the miller comment . Sucks most have the vision of hasek wining in detroit . Not me miller was never Hasek and the game isn't the same asback then. Still need heart and determination to win. most goals still wins the game .

pfft oh well.
