what this team needs most is to lose an ungodly amount of games in a row and by some horrific scores to force management to do something about it.
with a new coach they could be a much better team. The defensive zone coverage is brutal and it looks to me like the players aren't playing a system, they're playing man on man and don't know where they're supposed to be on breakouts. It's pretty awful to watch. - Isles_since_6
They lost 17 in a row last year and all they did was fire the coach. They lost a bunch in November and did nothing. There's a level of complacency and acceptance of mediocrity in the Isles organization that comes from ownership and Management that isn't rivaled by any other team in major professional sports. Unfortunately, that's not going anywhere until Wang/Snow are gone. |

I am just sick of waiting. I am sick of talking about what great prospects we have and then they get brought up and they do nothing. Is it because they are rushed? Maybe? Is it because they were bad picks by Garth? possibly. AT this point it does not matter. We need to win now if we want any chance of staying on LI. Trades have to be made. SO no more Fail for Nail. The time now is to trade or fade! - mighty13duck

i believe its just one. Best move by Wang in a while... puts pressure on Nassau by showing that the team has another option even if its not the most viable.

it's a terrible option, and it's almost laughable that it's a better option than the current building. The brooklyn building if I remember reading correctly, was only going to be able to hold about 14k for hockey as it wasn't initially designed for it.
That being said, if it does become an option it may just mean that they remain a small market team, but with a better building and hopefully that would free up Snow to spend a bit more money and attract a free agent that doesn't come with a walker.
I'm predicting that tonight the Isles lose 4-1. The only goal will be moulson from JT and hamonic, extending JT's point streak to 10 games.
How he can be 9 points off the league lead in points on a team with zero secondary scoring is incredibly impressive. Every team knows all they have to do is stop JT and they haven't been able to do it. My only enjoyment watching this team finish off another wasted season is watching JT play. This kid has grown into a true NHL star and no one on this team works harder and plays through the abuse he takes every game. The fact that his talent is being wasted by the Isles is disgusting. Give this kid a team he can take to the playoffs!

You realize the Islanders consistently attract less than 12K fans a night, right? |

Financing documents for the arena released in December 2009 indicate that “The New York Islanders could potentially become a tenant” at the Barclays Center.[9] The Islanders' agreement with the New York Rangers allows them to relocate anywhere on Long Island, including Brooklyn and Queens.[10] Whereas the original Gehry design would have featured a hockey configuration with capacity typical of the arenas used in the National Hockey League, the final design for the Barclays Center is designed mainly for basketball use. It can nevertheless accommodate an NHL-size rink, though the arena will only be able to seat 14,500 fans in its hockey configuration, which would give it the lowest seating capacity in the NHL.[11] |

I thought the Old Boston Garden was small as well? At least the Barclays would have luxury boxes. I have no problem with the Isles ending up in Brooklyn. |

I certainly hope not. They need someone they've never seem before to come into the locker room and shake it up. Install a system and hold everyone accountable despite the name or salary. Keenan would be entertaining. We'd see the goalie pulled every game |

At least there would be someone with some emotion behind the bench, instead of a guy who you have to hold a mirror under his nose to make sure hes breathing. |

I agree... and at least the power play looks decent, despite Rolston. |

I agree. No more internal guys please. Need an outsider with a winning track record. I'd like someone like Andy Murray. |

Even if they only end there for a Few seasons while Nassau finds out what life without a tenant is like.

Did you see cap just look up at the clock before the commercial break after nabby handed the puck away? Cap looked like he had dinner plans and was just waiting for this to end so he could leave

It's comical watching how fast Rolston bails out and passes backwards to no one when he accidentally finds himself involved in an offensive zone cycle. |

Or how it takes him 6 strides to reach some kind of acceptable speed? |
