He played well that season. Did get exposed in the SCF, but hey I guess a guy who is a back-up is supposed to shut down the Stanley Cup Champions. |

Take it easy, Lionel Jospeh. I'm just a poor exchange student from Cameroon.

Where is he now? The team was on fire. It wasn't him out there winning those games. Granted he didn't lose the games either, well until the SC.
If he was so good for us he'd still be playing for us. Or playing for someone somewhere.
He's not a good goalie. Never was, never will be. He'd be an NHL backup for a small market team at best... |

I'm not trying to take away from what he did that year... but lets me honest here...
He's not a good goalie.

If you look bad at that playoff year, Chicago exposed every goal. Leighton gave them a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Yes, he gave up that terrible goal but I thought he gave them a chance to win. Niiemi just happen to make a couple more big saves in that series. I thought the difference was the depth of Chicago. |

a lot of good stuff in that interview. This kid continues to grow on me. I really hope he has a future here. I really hope Bryz gets things going too! |

That was my point. He could be an NHL back up. The team was on fire, so Leighton did nothing in any of those games? |

Leighton was a factor, maybe the biggest factor. It's unfortunate he was placed in that situation.
Further, if Emery didn't get hurt, I think he's still the starter here. But doesn't mean Leighton's not a capable NHL back-up. He's certainly better than guys like McIlhenney and Auld who are in the league now |

In all fairness to the organization, the starting goalie that year was lost to injury. They never went into the season expecting Leighton or Boucher to start in net. The conversation is really immaterial if you ask me. |
