Or showcasing Anders, for future trade bait.... - PREDX1
what is Lindback worth in the market? part of a package deal? a late draft pick? 13-9-2 record 2.65GAA .910SV% (career)
IMO he is a cheap, reliable backup, for now. No need to trade him. and his loyalties are pretty deep with the predators because they were the only team that scouted him. so he might be ok with the backup role for a while. also learning from a pretty good goalie and goalie coach |

Borg to Tootoo... Tootoo to Spaling. Game over.
Lindback in net isn't a concession of the game D, there were many times (start of 2010-2011 season) that Lindy stepped it up. Now, the guys in front did the same but he still looked good. First period might be rusty but he thrives on shots like Peks does. |

My guess is that Trotz intended to play Rinne in both games given that yesterday was an early start and the defense may have been able to keep his workload light. But given the volume of rubber he saw in the 2nd and 3rd periods with Suter out he decided today that a fresher Lindback was a better option.
I don't buy any "showcasing a player on TV" or "yesterday was a better guarantee of a win and concede today to the Rangers" theories. Trotz doesn't set his lineup based on TV or trade possibilies or lack of confidence in beating a team. I have to believe he sets it based on the best chance to win each game, otherwise he would have lost the team a long time ago. |

Plus, if we win tonight w/Anders in net it sends a strong statement about not only the goaltending here but also the team.
Not for a second do I think the Preds are in any way conceding this game. If anything, they want it more than yesterday's win. - blueline

Anyone else find it hilarious watching these guys on NBC talk about Nashville? I don't think they've watched them play all year. We should make a drinking game for next years lone nationally televised game. |

Preds are good now, 5 wins in a row, every team in that division except for Columbus is making the playoffs this year, they are drafting Nail. |

Not the rest of the division, it's the rest of the west we are worried about. Not until we are ahead of 8th by 10 pts will we be more confident. |

I'm y disappointed in their performance. No excuses. I don't buy the excuse they played yesterday, they played anders who had a great game, no suter... There was no effort. |

There was also a lot of blocked shots by the Rangers and Lundqvist showed why he is always in talks for Vezina. Rangers played a Detroit style game in center ice, too. I thought it was a decent game given we DID play yesterday. |

Its bad when they use numbers instead of names.
And does any have an official record for nationally televised games for the preds? (excluding playoff) |

Zero televised. We don't exist.
Speaking of numbers and names, did anyone catch the recap on NHL Network Monday night after the Islanders game? #11 was pronounced more than once as LegAwand. If they were going to butcher the name, they could have at least said LeggYwand.

What about Kostitchin during the Islanders game? That's how they pronounced it on NHL On The Fly later on as well. |

Disagree! Our best chance to win is always Rinne, but in a pair of back to back games, it's already been shown that Rinne has a tough time carrying the load. Last time was a disaster. If he really planned on revisiting that disaster again then it was a pretty dumb move. Pekka should have played against the Rangers. Maybe then he wouldn't have had to shuffle the D lines every other shift. He should have trusted Anders against the Islanders. |

Ultimately this game wasn't lost on goaltending. Anders let in 2. The loss was caused by too many passes and blocked shots up front. Lundqvist stood on his head and they were the better team (which is expected when you're the #1/2 team in the league). Would having Pekka in there have made any difference for 2 GAA? Probably not. |
