Agreed, he can not stop his brain from telling him where to go. He had a career threatening concussion that had him off for a year. He subconciously is probably avoiding heavy contact areas. If he keeps going without injury his brain will reset itself to the way it was before.

Unfortunately for athletes, our minds learn from our mistakes overriding that is difficult.
