I was wondering when they were going to try this pairing. (frank)in' right. Luke'll get his minutes with Dion!!!

I'm curious to see who plays their off side.

I'm loving all the pairings. I think they look nicely balanced. Gunnar/Komi, Gards/Franson look good to me. Ever since they traded for Dion, I've wanted him paired with Luke. I hope this works well, so we see it more. I think they'll switch based on the situations.

This is gonna help Schenn big time in his development.

As pointed out by @Apetrielli...

Luke was on the ice when Dion got clipped by Foligno last night. Kinda wish he had of gone after Nick, especially since Aulie has shown he's willing to do so.

When will we have a team that can be relied on to win consistently?

This team really is not that good, whenever we play a decent team it shows, unless our Goalie stands on his head we give up too many goals and chances.

Its pretty apparent a goalie is a big need, our sub.900 sv% above 3.00gaa does not cut it

someone set me straight, since the leafs and red wings are playing the winter classic together.

does that mean they are both on 24/7?

i know what burke thinks about it...but i thought they went hand in hand together.

Burke on Twitter was asked about it and said the Leafs would do it if it was Winter Classic related.

My buddy said it best. Schenn has it all. With time and lots of work, he could become a defensive powerhouse - like that of Scott Stevens. The biggest difference between the two guys though is Scott was MMEEEAAANNN. People we're scared to face him. Luke is a sweet kid, he's tough - and clearly he can lay the body - but he's got a "soft" demeanor.

That's what I thought. But I read an article the other day with someone saying that Burke said Toronto would ONLY do it if the NHL mandated it.

It sure will!

It will also kill our goals against, increase odd man rushes, increase the amount of times an opposing playing walks around our d.

But it should give our tenders more practice...so that might be good!

I agree, but it isn't the goalies man. We're not gritty or aggressive enough. Look at the leading teams. Half the squads are gritty and aggressive - even the top guys.

.A Newfie walked into a bank in Toronto and asked for the loans officer. He told the loans officer that he was going to Newfoundland on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000, however he was not a depositor of the bank. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Newfie handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The ...car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Newfie produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest.Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Newfie for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parked it. Two weeks later, the Newfie returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?' The Newfie replied: 'Where else in Toronto can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?
