No offense to the Sens, but we "should" have beat you tonight, too.

Leafs don't get motivated for meaningful games. Consistent theme under Rotten Ronnie.

- Leeman4Gilmour

No offense taken - we did not play very well. To blame your loss on the Spezza goal (which was a goal) is to allow your team off the hook. Your guys played on the periphery too much and your defense were easy to get around - even as our forwards appeared to be skating in molasses and making lousy decisions and passes, with a few exceptions. Sens were able to muster enough intensity at a few different parts of the game to get the win, which surprises because it was 3rd in 4 nights and of course we played (badly) last night.

Good job dressing rosehil, really stopped the tards from running around acting like idiots. Kessel was repeatedly knocked down and not a single player does a thing. Brutal. If he can't stop it and he doesn't intervene when it happens he's utterly useless.

Hear that sound?

That's the sound of the playoffs slipping away.... again

- SofaKingBored

Eesh, one point out of the playoffs after a 3 game slide... During which time we were missing our #1 center and top PMD, and the top line slumped. Hell, 2 of those games we didn't even have our secondary PMD.

Still 40 games to go, more than enough time to make the playoffs. If the Leafs play like they did tonight, and the sens continue to as well, it won't be too long before these sens trolls return to the holes they were hiding in for the first 30 games. Their hot streak is nearing its end, and we've got another one coming soon.

so what your saying is karlsson is not better then lidstrom ?
- The_Vark

Actually EVERYONE is talking about Karlsson - you know, the one we drafted many places after Luke Schenn. He has 44 points in 47 games and is a plus player despite playing huge minues every night against opponents top lines.

Hard to knock that, though I am sure you will try. Be aware that your management, as well as the management of every other team in the leauge would give their left n*t to have him on their team.

Better than Lidstrom? Nobody in their right mind would say that at this point. But for 21 years old, he is on his way to being quite something.

He's a very similar player to mike green. Basically, a 4th forward on the ice.

Are you suggesting that spasto isn't in his right mind?

Can we stop with this? Burke met with Schenn and told him he's not going anywhere, unless a GM offers him a deal that he cannot refuse. Burke probably highly overvalues Schenn. He's not getting traded.
- dionschenn

amen to that, burke has the biggest hard on for schenn hes the kindof player burkie dies for i say he hasnt made a trade yet cause he wants either gunnarsson or aulie rather than schenn to be the target d.

Don't feel bad few teams are as tough as the Sens. Leafs deserved better in some respects. Unfortunately goaltenders are part of the team too and ours is pretty good.

in the spirit of putting words in people's mouths, the inebriated one says Schenn for JVR + Couturier assuming JVR is healthy

notice how schenn was destroying those (frank)ers tonight. 8 hits he was credited with and I counted at least four more that weren't recorded

Was impressed with Lupul and Phaneuf tonight they have heart! We're not as dire as a few years back when they would run over our talent with no reprecussions. Would have liked to see someone go after Smith for getting in Kessel's face or anyone for knocking around our goalie. Not sure but I'll take the penalty to keep people out of crease for the rest of the year instead of allowing the circus we have until now.

edit Schenn played one of his better games this year.

Nice to see, but why is he so bad in front of his net, then? That's got to be his bread and butter.

Frustrating... although I give him a pass for having to endure being coached by Ron Wilson. None of our D look good in front of our goalies.

Somebody really should have taken a run at Anderson.

The news is out now: The Leafs don't care what you do to their goalies.

They could have atleast crowded him a bit. No traffic other than Lupul in front. Not sure if it's tired or scared but the Leafs are playing the perimeter game again that has plagued them in previous years.
